With One World Under Doom kicking into gear in February, it’s probably a good time to check in on the Fantastic Four, who will obviously have a vested interested in Doom’s agenda. January’s Fantastic Four #28 will serve as a prelude to the big crossover event, as the Fantastic Four calls on Dane Whitman, aka the Black Knight, for help with their magical Doom problem. The first issue of Ryan North and Iban Coello was an excellent Thing story, but it also left us with one big question — what exactly happened to the Fantastic Four (and New York)? I’m not sure if this issue will answer that question, but it does feature Reed, Sue and a whole bunch of Doombots.
With Dan Slott’s time on Fantastic Four coming to an end this week, Marvel has announced plans to reboot the title following the A.X.E. Judgment Day crossover issues. Ryan North and Iban Coello will navigate Marvel’s first family’s adventures starting in November. Alex Ross provides the first issue’s two covers.
