Rachel Pollack, who passed away last year, introduced DC’s first trans character Coagula during her run on Doom Patrol back in the 1990s. As a part of Pride Month, DC will release DC Pride: A Celebration of Rachel Pollack, which will feature reprints of Doom Patrol #70, Coagula’s first appearance; Vertigo Visions: The Geek, the long out-of-print one-shot by Pollack and Mike Allred; and a new Coagula story by Joe Corallo and Rye Hickman.

DC Pride: A Celebration of Rachel Pollack arrives in stores this week.

Following DC’s Lazarus Planet event comes a new Doom Patrol title, Unstoppable Doom Patrol by Dennis Culver and Chris Burnham. It arrives in March 2023 and is part of the Dawn of DC publishing initiative.

Out this week: Doom Patrol by Gerard Way and Nick Derington: The Deluxe Edition (DC, $49.99):

As a part of his Young Animal comics line that he curated, My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way teamed with up-and-coming artist Nuck Derington to revive the Doom Patrol in a series  that hearkened back to the glory days of Grant Morrison’s run on the title. This is worth checking out for Derington’s work alone, especially if you were a fan of the Vertigo series.

Out this week: Lazarus Planet: Dark Fate (DC, $4.99):

I think the thing I’m most excited by in this week’s Lazarus Planet one-shot is the introduction of Dennis Culver and Chris Burnham’s Doom Patrol, before they jump into their own series. The anthology also includes stories by Tim Seeley, Joshua Williamson, A.L. Kaplan, Alyssa Wong, Baldemar Rivas and more, featuring Huntress, Flash and more.
