One of DC’s oldest titles gets a new creative team as Tom Taylor and Mikel Janín come on board for a new story arc called “Mercy of the Father.” This story promises “major changes for the Dark Knight, and things may never be the same again.”
The 12-issue series begins in October.
Mark Waid and Chris Samnee bring their special blend of magic to Gotham City this week.

Batman and Robin, meanwhile, gets a new creative team in October in the form of Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Javier Fernandez. They’ll have Damian Wayne explore who he is “outside of the crusades his family has tasked him with fighting since birth.”

Absolute Batman #1 by Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta is part of DC's Absolute Universe, which debuts in October:
Snyder launches this new universe with the release of Absolute Batman #1, featuring art by Nick Dragotta. In this iteration, fans will be introduced to a version of the Dark Knight that doesn’t have the money, mansion, or butler of his core-line counterpart. Readers will quickly find out what makes this the “Absolute” version of Batman when the debut issue arrives at participating comic book shops and digital retailers Wednesday, October 9.

Batman #153 arrives in comic shops this week.
It wouldn’t be Christmas without the annual DC holiday special, and this year they lean heavily into a cult classic Christmas carol for the title: DC’s Batman Smells, Robin Laid an Egg. The anthology will include six stories by Marv Wolfman, Alexis Quasarano, Drew Maxey, James Reid, Calvin Kasulke, Rick Sanchez, Dorado Quick, Zipporah Smith, Paul Pelletier, Andrew Drilon and more. The cover is by Riley Rossmo.
Challengers of the Unknown will return in a new title by Christopher Cantwell and Sean Izaakse, and they’re getting a few new members — namely Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman.
