#I mean I am committed to my personal headcanon that luke just—cannot forgive ben. can’t. he’s tried. he’s been trying for 15 years.#the unstinting faith and love that meant luke could not kill his monstrous father has deserted him when it comes to his nephew#(this boy with han’s nose and leia’s eyes and just as powerful in the force as luke is he was supposed to be the best of all them and—)#there is a part of luke that hates ben organa with a dark sider’s hate#particularly because luke remembers. luke was there on the bridge and his father was trying to kill him and luke STILL refused.#he remembers how much he wanted to kill him. to get it over with. to save his friends. to stop the darkness from rising.#it was the worst and hardest thing he’s ever done#not killing him; letting it come#(what was your excuse ben organa? what reason did you have—)#luke loved his nephew.  but then—he imagines ben must have loved anakin skywalker once too#before he told luke to kill him#(……………see isn’t that a great headcanon???)#(especially because it’s such an awful reversal of states—if leia loves her son still and luke can’t bear to call him kin.)#(that’s the best part I love that; if luke can be obi-wan’s narrative heir and leia can be anakin’s that is my JAM) (notbecauseofvictories)
