He supposes it looks nice enough, the kind of thing that you would see in an interior design magazine. It’s covered in a nice brown leather. It’s the kind of couch that you’re supposed to want. It doesn’t belong in here anymore than any of the other things Margaret bought for the place.

 Buck follows Eddie’s gaze to the couch. “Yeah, it’s, uh, it’s, she meant well.”

 “It doesn’t look like you,” Eddie says, before his filter gets a chance to kick in. “Uncomfortable as hell, too,” he adds.

 Buck snorts and Eddie can’t help but grin at him. That much is still the same.

 “It’s the fucking worst,” Buck admits. “I’ve tried sleeping on it. It’s impossible.”

When Eddie first gets to LA he’s looking for a fresh start and finds it at a bookshop. But not everyone is happy he’s there. The other guy at the store, Buck, can’t stand him. But things are good and they get even better when he develops an unexpected friendship with someone he met online. It’s hate at first sight for Buck, but at least he has a really good thing going with this guy he met online.
