CSLB Artist Spotlight: slow-smiles
Today’s featured Captain Swan Little Bang artist is @slow-smiles!
How long have you been making artwork for the OUAT fandom? What sorts of artwork (original or fan art) did you make before joining the OUAT fandom?
I’ve done some gifs and manips for OUAT, but I don’t do much that I post. Most of my manips/edits/etc. stays on my main. I only post my traditional artwork on my professional social media accounts.
What sort of artwork do you like to make, either in terms of style, medium, or subject matter?
My favored traditional medium is charcoal. My favored digital artwork at the moment is manipping. I’m still developing a personal style, so I can alter it based on my needs. I’m developing my figure and face drawing skills in traditional artwork, so I suppose you could say that’s my favorite subject matter right now
Whose your favorite subject for artwork: Emma or Killian? Or do you prefer both together? Why?
Emma. A) She’s my favorite. B) I prefer drawing women to men. C) still haven’t figured out how to make facial hair look really good lol. If I’m working digitally, I don’t have much of a preference.
If this is your first time participating in a Big or Little Bang, what made you decide to sign up? What are you looking forward to?
I need some artistic motivation, and doing projects like this with deadlines is always the best way to get my creativity going.
At the risk of sounding like the meme, graphic design is my passion and print design like magazines is a really fascinating part of the field that I’d love to do some real work in someday. Getting to design something that I’m excited about career-wise combined with OUAT characters and ships that I love is just really fun.
