Arabs being bombed is absolutely not a dealbreaker for the average person and this is the reality Arabs are expected to be okay with.

The average person in the world has decided the killing of us as Arabs is either inconsequential or an asset and expects us to keep quiet about it. We're expected to keep our mouths shut and accept the violence accept the devastation accept the destruction of our homes, our communities, the murders of our loved ones. Because you do so why shouldn't I? You accept the killing of my friends, my flesh and blood, why shouldn't I?

In the least dramatic way possible being Arab right now is a very isolating experience (and I think in the context of being Iraqi in the US it always was but this is a whole new level) and that’s something I’m grieving but also coming to accept bc also in the least dramatic way possible everyone is sick of you centering the fact that Arab people are being genocided and you are more susceptible to losing friendships over it than ever

Fun fact: Camel Spiders aka Sun Spiders aka Solifuges are not true spiders because they lack the ability to produce webs, and their legs are arranged more like scorpions than spiders.

They’ve also been commonly attributed as having incredibly deadly venom, but actually the opposite is true. Their venom is pretty much harmless to humans and they rarely bite anyway. If you do get bit by one, the wound will likely cause you more problems than the venom.

And as a final fun fact, the Frostbite Spiders in Skyrim are heavily inspired by Solifuges.

when i was a kid i used to pray to god every night that he would “create an invisible hole somewhere”. to me an “invisible hole” was a deep pit that would look like regular ground until you stepped on it, at which point you would presumably fall to your death - an illusory floor. it was very important to me that it was just at some random location, because it had to trap a person i didn’t know and would never meet, though in my attempt to actualize my prayer through whatever focus my 4 year old brain could muster up i did start to imagine the future victim’s face as they met their sudden demise. i was not motivated by any potential personal gain, i simply wanted to test god’s power.
