This is the same audio that I posted a few days ago, it’s been tracked now. I think I forgot to give it it’s own post when I put the tracked version up?

Also, I’m really sad to see the harsh judgements going around based on these audios. I saw Taye live, and I enjoyed his performance. He’s not my favorite Hedwig, but it was a solidly entertaining show. Anyone who didn’t know the script by heart probably didn’t notice most of the little line flubs. He’s not Darren. I didn’t expect him to be Darren. I enjoyed seeing someone else in the role, trying new things. His Hedwig and Rebecca’s Yitzhak had good chemistry and an interesting relationship. He had an interesting physicality for Hedwig and for Tommy. I didn’t think of a frat boy once. He’s not as outwardly emotional as Darren, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing there when you’re in the theater, and I’m kind of shocked that people seem to be judging him that way based on audios from his first week.

The Broadway message boards rip everyone to shreds, including Darren. 

By request, here’s Taye’s “Wicked Little Town.” This was another one of my favorite performances of the night.

Broadway’s Hedwigs

Surprised first night material hasn’t been posted! Most of Taye’s songs were dramatically pitched down as expected. He croons them beautifully all the same, again as expected. 

Also enjoy his improv after the song. Reacting to a latecomer and showing she has what it takes to do other broadway shows.
