There is a post that has come across my dash crediting Emma instead of Will for saving Kurt’s life.

While I 100% give Emma credit for initially recognizing the potential warning signs for Kurt and then calling Burt in for a meeting I, for one, still also give credit to Will.

The fact still remains that if Will didn’t act upon his own high school nostalgia. New Directions wouldn't exist. There wouldn't be a sign up sheet, there would be no reason for Rachel to tell Kurt that Will was reviving the glee club in the first place ,and Kurt would have had to find some other team to join. Who knows if Hummelberry would even exist?

So, in my eyes, BOTH Emma and Will saved Kurt’s life, so I’m giving credit to them both.

Episodes 6x12 and 6x13: Initial Reaction

Just returned from heyjealousy09‘s glee finale watch party with theshriek. We had a wonderful time! :)

Regarding the series finale, I thought both episodes were wonderful and together did a tremendous job of having the show come full circle. It’s been a long time since I’ve been so satisfied with a series finale. They wrapped things up beautifully.

We also re-watched the pilot episode right before 2009, which added to the meaningfulness and poignancy. Watching them in succession was akin to assembling the whole puzzle.

I will have more thoughts tomorrow, but for now, I’m immensely happy and content with the series finale.

Well done, Glee, well done.

Episode Reaction – Glee 6x11 (part 1): The Passing of the Torch and New Directions’ Legacy

First, kudos to Joaquin Sedillo and Telly Kousakis for an overall fantastic episode. I thought they both did a great job.

I experienced a wave of nostalgia and emotions whilewatching this episode. I felt a sense of closure to this season’s main storylines, hope and inspiration, and poignancy especially when the flashback of Finn was shown at the end of the episode.

Because I’m still gathering my thoughts, I’m breaking this down into parts with more thoughts to come later.

Now that we have stills and spoilery tidbits from 2009, I have to say again how thankful I am that the episode order is what it is, and that 2009 is first and Dreams Comes True is second.

While I realize there has been much chatter and discussion by some advocating the gumption of TPTB or the network (most likely the network) putting 2009 second, I think it’s more logical and meaningful in the current sequence.

There have been several recent shows willing to put their devoted fandoms through the ringer (HIMYM is at the top of my mind) for the sake of creativity and water cooler talk. While daring in some respects, I don’t think that what RIB were aiming for - they always said that the finale would be uplifting, and I think that’s what we’re getting. As a longtime Gleek, I’d rather have an uplifting feeling rather than be left feeling unsettled.

Jane Hayward and Rather Be

Still gathering thoughts and energy to write a longer 6x10 reaction post, but in the meantime, a little tidbit.

Jane singing the lead and the choreography and the staging in Rather Be (which I loved everything about that performance)- Oh the irony of the lyrics and Jane's story. She's found a home at McKinley and with the New Directions after leaving Dalton, and right after she has this performance - the Warblers show up at McKinley. No wonder she is pissed. Her reaction shots, disbelief, reluctance, ad anger were so palpable last night. I thought Samantha was fantastic. Kudos to her.

Rachel and NYADA

Rewatching 6x10 with the head phones on, and heard something very interesting that we may not have caught during the ep.

Carmen Thibideaux’s call to Rachel - if you listen carefully you can actually hear a voice on the other side of the line. I couldn’t catch everything, but Carmen says something to the effect that this was Rachel’s day for second chances…that one of the NYADA sophomores was hit by one of the city bikes crossing the street. The student was fine, but in a coma, so that means there’s a spot open for Rachel if she wants it.

Just off the top of my head, this reminds me of Blaine getting the Dalton advisor job because the original Dalton faculty advisor was out with Ebola.

Not sure if this will be of any consequence in the remaining episodes, but I found it worth noting.

Episode reaction: Glee 6x10 (initial thoughts)

I’m here for all of what’s left of Glee. Was it the best episode ever? No. Everything is relative though.

For all those bitching about tonight’s ep, the title is called THE RISE AND FALL OF SUE SYLVESTER. Perhaps it’s just me but I think that would mean that it’s Sue-centric, but hey YMMV.

Would I have liked if there was more focus on the aftermath of Dalton burning to the ground? Sure, definitely. But like I said earlier, I’m here for all of it. There is still stuff to be gleaned from this episode.

Everyone has noted previously how this season referenced Season 1 - back to the beginning. Well, like it or not, a lot of the focus of season 1 was on the back and forth between Sue and Mr. Schue, so they referenced this here again like in the callback to their Throwdown in Vitamin D.

TL; DR: I didn’t think this episode was the worst ep ever. But YMMV.

Episode reaction: Glee 6x09 (Initial Thoughts)

I'll make this short and sweet tonight.

Overall, I felt as though the writers suddenly remembered that the new newbies hadn't done much this season, and so they threw the dog a bone, so to speak.

All the newbie interactions and conflicts that were previously extended over several episodes in the past seasons were super condensed and wrapped too neatly in a bow by the end of the episode for my liking.

The actors did the best they could with the material, but overall, this is the episode that felt disjointed to me. I felt as though it was filler.

ETA: I wish the episode had aired earlier in the season, like after The Hurt Locker Part 2. It would’ve fit better sequentially in my opinion. As is, it feels like it was thrown in there. I felt as though something was off.

I may have further thoughts  upon rewatch, but this is my initial reaction.

Oh, and contrary to the popular opinion on my dash, I still prefer the season 4/ 5 newbies.

Episode Reaction Thoughts Glee 6x08

As with many of the episodes this season, I’ve re-watched this episode several times before writing down my thoughts. It gave me to chance to (re)frame these storylines within the larger overall context of the seasonal arcs. As for the episode itself, I already had the impression that it would go by in a blur, so the speed of last night’s events didn’t upset or shock me.

Anyways…

My brain is still trying to process the adult!future!klaine spoiler pic. I am beside myself. They look so sophisticated 70s retro. I love it!!

And then we get the first still of the big double gay wedding with Burt officiating...

Just...

To have these two different photos emerge at nearly the same time...

Just.

You can definitely see the striking contrast between the two photos. Our boys have gone from newlyweds to grown married adults.

Just.

Wow.

This has been a hell of a week.
