Glee-Cap: “Feud” | GLEE
…the episode after Sue lectures Blaine about commitment we get him singing that amazing rendition of ‘Against All Odds’.
Coincidence?
I think not.
Also because I can’t have this picture often enough on my blog.
I have a post sitting in draft from a year ago now, that’s a screenshot of Blaine, Kurt, Santana and Brit when they confront Sebastian in the Lima Bean that calls them “the gay fantastic four.” I bookmarked it for later use as a think piece about queer community, but last night’s Glee made me really want to get back to it, finally, because of Santana. The scene where she tells Kurt and Rachel they’re family made my heart ache in all the best ways. I have a lot more to say about that all personally that has very little to do with your enjoyment of the above recap, but understanding community and family of choice is beautiful and Glee getting us there about them — and about the newbies for that matter — was a good thing.
Everything they explored about Blaine Anderson and his loyalty, even though the lens of Sue and her Machiavellian insanity, hit me strongly as well. Sue always has a purpose and a lesson for these kids, and sure she needs his perky, non-threatening behind to hoist girls, but she also is trying to shape Blaine back into someone trustworthy and loyal. Sure, her methods are terrifying and definitely evoke a creepy power dynamic, but we also see Blaine settle into that, and use that to his advantage. Blaine has been berating himself for his mess up with Kurt, he wasn’t to feel like he’s not a bad person, and Sue is giving him another avenue to prove he is worthy and good. Does he need to do that? I don’t have that answer, but I am interested to see the Blaine, and eventually the Blaine-and-Kurt, that comes out on the other side of this season.
I really hope Finn goes to college and lets Rachel deal with her own life, that is all.

Ill agree that it was. I also felt they needed to have a discussion but both fail at that and Emma cant help them so they were doomed.
*nods* I agree about having more discussion. :)

Given Will, I can completely understand his attitude about it being enough to put anyone off. :)

I feel like the lone person who gets that Will is still stuck as a teenager due to Terri and appreciates that he admitted he wasnt ready to accept Finns apology. *shrugs*
I get your reasoning. I just found his entire attitude off-putting.

Remember Finn & Sue, though? Just because Finn apologised doesnt meal Will is obliged to accept his apology. Doesnt surprise me to hear that he was an arse about it through.
True. I guess what irritated me the most was the fact that Will was being an ass. Normally, I just shrug, but his attitude hit me in a bad spot.

Up until tonight, I usually felt like I was one of the few people who liked Will, but tonight he made me join the rest of the fandom. Whats wrong with him? Finn apologized many times, what more does Will want? Hes acting like a child, wow.
*nods* Exactly the same way I feel Berni. He acted like a petulant brat tonight. Grow up, Will.
