As I think, these artifacts can greatly affect the mental state of the owner, because of their enormous power. For example, Marik and Bakura succumbed to the influence of artifacts, which is why they found their dark sides. Yugi stands in the middle, because on the one hand he has accepted this power, and on the other he uses it for the benefit of himself and friends. Although if we take the example of Shadow game, then the situation there is twofold.
And the owners with the strongest mental health, or so they have at least a little resistance to magic - Pegasus and Ishizu. (Shadi doesn't count, he's a ghost)
Ishizu is one of the strongest, in terms of psyche, and her dark side does not manifest itself in the series and manga in any way. She just skillfully uses her abilities, and then refused the artifact altogether, giving Yugi necklace. Pegasus in the anime, he showed his negative sides, but even with the artifact, he was able to resist evil and did not stoop to crimes like Bakura or Marik. Even after losing, he was able to control himself and release the souls from the cards. Of course, in the manga, he died at the hands of Bakura, but in the anime, after all the events, he remains a good person.
