A YouTuber called ‘King Mckay’ talked about Ubbe and Alfred’s relationship and hearing his in-depth analysis just makes me sad. The potential this relationship had is insane and the fact that Hirst didn’t dedicate time to build and develop this relationship boggles me. (x)

Composition

I love how in this scene, Ubbe and Alfred share their own frame, like everyone is positioned so carefully, that it makes it so easy to draw a line. Without context, this makes it seem like they are having a private conversation, they are speaking about something that they only trust each other with, as the onlookers look on ahead, not close enough to hear them.

Also Ubbe and Alfred are placed so close to each other which shows the audience that they are comfortable around each other.

Whereas, Judith, Elsewith and Torvi are spaced apart from each other. Showing the audience are strangers amongst each other, especially Torvi, who is positioned by herself like an outsider.
