“What are you thinking about?” Luca finally asked, his voice so resonant and soothing to the ear that she found herself waking up despite having never been asleep. She watched as he repositioned himself on the couch, his body turning inward and his arm resting on the head of the sofa. Sitting opposite him, the lack of space between them was starting to become more apparent, the strong currents held captive in his eyes only a breadth away, tempting her to dive in and sink deeper into his gaze. “The dinner at Ever, this mess that I’m gonna have to clean up later,” she confessed whimsically as she examined the disarray of half-eaten waffles and empty red cups scattered across the living room. “And by strange coincidence, I was thinking of you.” | As Sydney's afterparty comes to a close, all of her guests leave to head back home...all except one.
