wait hold on something about three of those little fridge magnet dudes being connected and the other two being separate (something like one break up happening, another to come, and the buckley diaz family unit remaining together)
while i agree that buck probably has the entire zoo memorized because he and chris go there all the time, i also have a headcanon that he did it on purpose just so that even if another emergency strikes at the worst possible moment, he'll have dozens of escape routes and will be able to get chris out as quickly and safely as possible, because after that tsunami, there is absolutely no way in hell that buck is losing their kid again
the fact that eddie is struggling this much with figuring out how to have a family again and in the exact. same. episode. they're shoving it in our faces that he already has one
this episode was the definition of “it’s like the universe is screaming at you and you refuse to listen.” there’s this man in front of you. a man that takes your child to the zoo, tells him fun facts, gives him a big hug when he visits you guys at work, knows when something is off with you, makes you smile, makes you feel comfortable, and makes you happy. there’s no reason for you to stick it out with someone you’re not in love with just because “christopher likes them.” christopher likes someone else too. someone that you like. someone that makes your life fun and light. someone you deserve and someone that will always put you and your son first— because he’s done that time and time again before. edmundo diaz, buck is your person and it’s like the universe is screaming at you and you refuse to listen.
I don’t even care how cliché this may be, do you know how badly I want Christopher to tell Buck “My dad’s in love with you.” like it’s the most OBVIOUS thing in the world??? Because to Christopher, it is???
Buckley-Diaz family - Fools 3x12
You know, for a lot of us, I believe with buddie we all came for that tension they had in the beginning. You know, that light flirtation they had going on and thinking it would just be some harmless fling in the show. But then the moment they introduced Christopher and they started playing around with the ‘found family’ trope, I believe that’s what we all stayed for.
Because it became something more than just another ship on a list of many. They became something we clung to, something we hoped for. Because seeing these two guys be so nurturing and loving towards their ‘son’ made us realise what they could be to each other.
And I think that’s what makes this fandom so hopeful to the idea that FOX might actually let them become canon. Because it would be such a beautiful story about two people spending their life trying to find home when it was staring right there in front of them.
I know we all adore Brenna, but this is an appreciation post for the director of Survivors [Robert M. Williams Jr.]. It was his second episode as the man in charge. The first? Eddie Begins.
*If* he’s only behind the camera for one episode in season five. . . you better come prepared.
EDDIE X BUCK and their son.
Available in buy me a coffee.
I was thinking of doing a kind of comic about them (once I am free of exams) and keeping the illustrations simple? Idk, what do you think?
Whoa, you got a kid? Christopher. He’s seven. And super adorable. I love kids.
