As TVLine previously reported, 9-1-1‘s Sept. 20 premiere (Fox, 8/7c) will find the 118 dealing with a citywide blackout. Now we can exclusively add that the blackout leads to a pack of escaped zoo animals running wild down Hollywood Blvd.
The blackout emergency will span the season’s first three episodes, which also find Athena dealing with her attacker, the serial rapist she caught and arrested at the end of Season 3.

It’s the way they robbed us of a Recovery arc with Buck, Eddie and Christopher! Just imagine, Buck moving in with them so he could help Eddie and take care of his legal son (yes I said legal because IT’S OFFICIAL 😎😎✨)!

Anyone notice the way Buck was just in his own world until Eddie called him ‘Evan’?
Like his parents call him that name all the time, I mean it’s his birthname, but hearing it come out of Eddie’s mouth... I think meant a lot of things for him.

The Buck scenes in this episode boiled down to:
Buck: it’s better if I’m the one in dangerous situations protecting all of you because you all have someone to go home to. I don’t have anyone to go home to. It’s easier if i’m the one who gets hurt.
Eddie: No one to— Evan, does our son mean nothing to you?
[Buck, what happened to Eddie was not your fault.] No. No, I was just the guy standing there when it happened who couldn’t do anything to protect him.
I’m sorry I really am but this finale was just all over the place. I knew from the promo and the sneak peeks that there was just too many storylines too fit into this one episode - I had a feeling they’d be rushing through a lot of things (which they did).
The amount of unfinished conversations we had, the quick cuts to other storylines - like nothing felt coherent at all!
Plus, I loved all the Buddie scenes we got in this episode even with Buck taking care of Christopher! It was so sweet just a hint of Buckley-Diaz family dynamics and I loved it!
But the Buck/Taylor kiss just left me feeling like... devastated?? Like I knew we weren’t getting a love confession but I just hoped we’d get a hint that Buck and Eddie would start realising that they feel some type of way about each other.
Now I’m just feeling like there’s no hope, which makes me sad because the fandom seems so happy due to the buddie scenes. And I want to be happy too but... I guess I just need time.

You know how Eddie holds the Saint Christopher medal as a symbolism to keep him safe from danger? What if in the finale... he holds Buck’s hand instead? Symbolising that Buck is his safe place, his guardian angel 🥺

Either he didn't have it on ironically but I thought it was implied he always did or it fell off or broke during all the chaos and we'll hear about it in passing tomorrow 🤔
I though about this some days ago and like you, came to the conclusion that it must have broke during the whole thing. (like it always does during times his life is in danger, apparently)
(fUCK it just crossed my mind that Buck will be the one to find it once he lifts Eddie to get him to the ambulance, or we will have a frame just focused on when it falls and nobody notices it, and it just stays there, in the middle of the pool of blood.)
