i definitely agree about paul!! not to mention that paul also turned everyone against cherry!!

with the others, i think they aren’t’ unsupportive but they’re definitely wary at first! they know chet has good intentions, but they’re a little worried about cherry dating again so soon. they don’t have anything to worry about, though, because chet is constantly asking them for advice

starting with the main socs !!

robert "bob" sheldon (17?); there's a lot of info on bob in the book which i'd really recommend reading because i fear people love to forget he's not just ... evil; he's pretty aggressive and violent, but is mentioned to have a softer side !!
paul holden (20, but dan berry says he's 17 in the musical ... dan berry is wrong); a lot of info on paul depends on who you ask !! he's been fleshed out quite a bit by the fandom but i'd recommend checking out some @qprpbj writing if you wanna gather some thoughts on his personality !!
sherri "cherry" valance (16); her parents fight a lot and her dad is a drunk so she's very in tune with the fact that socs aren't really all that, and she's pretty well educated on the social divide !!

ensemble soc time hehehe 🫶 i have headcanons up about all of the ensemble socs if that would help !! mostly listing just the canon stuff about them so i don't get carried away with my hcs again 🫡

chet baker (17?); this is my son and i love him very much he is silly; my personal hc is that his dad is the chief of police !!

unfortunately there’s a perfect amount of soc boys left to carry the coffin sooo … sorry boys
it’s obviously a soc-only event
cherry gives a little speech, and so does paul. chet was invited to, but i don’t think he does speak
all the soc boys + bev and marcia are sitting together, while cherry is sitting with her parents (+ bob’s parents) instead
the socs do try to speak to cherry, but she’s already started focusing heavily on the fact that the boys were all there and were part of the reason johnny had to do what he did
she does talk to marcia though
i think once everyone heads back to the sheldons’ afterwards, it gets awkward fast for the socs
everyone except cherry sits in bob’s room together and then suddenly cherry walks in
brill and chet try to ask how she’s doing and if there’s anything they can do for her, but she doesn’t say anything, and just sits down on the bed next to paul

except on the next group date, she notices chet and soda are being really physically affectionate with each other
i'm talking soda's arm is around chet in the booth at the diner, and chet's practically on soda's lap

sometimes there’s some conflict between them, because paul’s the one who encourages bob to fight, while cherry’s trying to get him not to
cherry valance completes almost all of paul holden’s college assignments 🫡 (if she’s not mad at him)
except she does them while he’s hungover and curled up in bob’s bed because how can you say no

okay so i've said before that i think pre-canon events, marcia probably didn't always understand just how far the violence in town goes, and this is obviously 🧍 the most severe thing that's happened 🧍 between the greasers and the socs 🧍
the dynamic between them in my head is very like "i'm always going to claim that i hate you but we both know we're kidding and that's enough" so there is a big amount of love between them
and also !!! marcia's best best friend in the entire world is bob's gf !!! and marcia is a very dedicated best friend, so i think she'd initially postpone her own grief to take care of cherry, and to take care of her bf (who literally watched it happen!!)
again, i've also said this before but i do think she's quite sheltered, so miss girl has absolutely no idea what she's supposed to do to help either of them, especially while she's absolutely devastated about it too ☹️
i think there's probably a night where both cherry and trip are staying over at marcia's, at her insistence, and she goes downstairs to get them some dinner to make sure they've eaten
and when she comes back, she's suddenly crying so hard that she drops the tray of plates she's carrying all over the floor
cherry and trip get her to sit down, and cherry just hugs her and cries with her, while trip makes super quick work of cleaning up the mess and getting something else for them to eat instead, because he wants to be the strong one for her now that she's coming to terms with what happened
while they eat, there's not a lot of talking, but there is a lot of cuddling :(

we have it explicitly stated that bob was different when he was alone with cherry, and i'm so convinced he's secretly a sweetheart ☹️
he totally knows about her parents' constant arguing, but in my head bob struggles to support his friends, though it's not from a lack of trying !!
bob is so focused on appearing strong and tough that i wouldn't be surprised if he's honestly really bad at talking about sensitive matters with the people he cares about, but it's because he doesn't want to make them feel worse if that makes sense??
his door is always open for cherry when she needs to get out of her own house, and he'll just hold her for hours until she either starts to feel better or until he's finally managed to formulate some sort of encouragement
the qpr server has heard me yap about this but he is absolutely going all out for her birthdays and their anniversaries ☹️ in his mind, he's got the money so why shouldn't he spend it on his gf??
for their 2 year anniversary he's asking the other soc girls what her favourite flowers are, what her favourite chocolates are, what colour jewellery is her favourite, etc. he knows the answers but he's sooo stressed that he'll fuck it up !!!
the 2 year anniversary shopping list: a bouquet of tulips, a gold necklace, a teddy bear that he gets marcia to tie a pink bow around the neck of, a box of chocolates, and the infamous promise ring that plagues my mind 24/7
any jokes about cherry's hair or honestly just anything about her are NOT flying, bob will smack any of their friends for saying something about her that he thinks is disrespectful
