we do have a fair bit of canon info on this actually from tilly’s lore!!
ok so from tilly’s lore we know she lives with her aunt who doesn’t live in a great environment to be raising a teenager girl in
her aunt’s a big drinker who brings a lot of guys over so ace spends a lot of time out with two-bit, steve and bales (bales was the character renni played in la jolla because steve wasn’t involved back then!)
her aunt doesn’t sound like she’s doing very well mentally, so this puts ace in an odd place where she’s tasked with nursing her aunt through her hangovers, rather than being raised by the person who’s supposed to raise her
we know she got along very well with her grandparents, who raised her for many years, so losing them would’ve been really hard for her when they’re the only dependable caregivers she’s had in a while

What’s your thoughts on Randy from the book? Do you think he would hang out with the rest of the Socs?
personally, i don’t picture randy as existing in the same universe as the musical! he’s a big figure if i’m thinking about the outsiders in a book or movie context, but i have yet to fully read the la jolla script so am not sure of his contributions to the musical before he was cut!
i think he would get on with the socs from the musical, though! at the end of the day they’re a group of boys united by pressures from their families, who share the same coping mechanisms
alright so now that we've heard from the wonderful ms towel, my beloved, let me attempt to word this a little more eloquently:
the whole point of media is that it affects people in different ways. we may have very different opinions on an adaptation, but that is because we are different people who find ourselves better reflected in different ways.
as i've said before, it's downright inaccurate to assume that everyone must agree with your take, or that your take is superior to another human being's.
berating someone for their personal opinion, whether it be on a character, a scene, a song, a ship, or anything else is really disappointing. personally my closest friend and i disagree on a ship that's very important to them, but it's actually quite easy to not tell her she's a fake fan just because we have differing opinions.
'the outsiders' is a story about found family, and about teens failing to cope with their differences. maybe sit and think about that for a second before you start threatening and harassing people.
again, i'm aware that this is aimed at a minority of the community. thank you to everyone who has reblogged any of the psas that i have posted, it means a lot to me that there are other people who agree that this negativity is not welcome or encouraged here.
that's all i have to say on the matter, and if anyone has anything they want to dispute with me about anything i've said here, i'm more than happy to discuss it in dms because i think i've made it quite clear that my blog is not a place for you

the decision to delete the blog was made on my own. i did not get in trouble, i was not asked to delete it, i decided to myself. i am sorry for those who were upset to lose all that information, i feel bad enough as it is doing that. the negative energy and empty threats were just not what i wanted to deal with and it made the last few days stressful & not fun on here for me lol. i am glad that i was able to provide a place for you guys to go to for information about the show and what not. i had the best time running it and making connections with some of u :')
i ultimately decided that i want to be able to go to the show with 0 stress/pressure/etc. of this blog and it was almost beginning to feel like a job in a way. i created this community because i didn't have anyone to share the show with,,,and now i am lucky enough to have people in my life that i can share it with! enjoying my time and seeing the show with friends is something i have to prioritize over running the blog. the support u all gave me was unreal and something that will forever mean the world to me. seriously thank u guys and remember to just be kind to one another!! i am doing ok and i hope u all are as well! <3

already had to post a psa before, but one of the biggest outsiders blogs has deactivated after a lot of hateful anons yesterday and today
hope you’re proud of yourself for ruining the fun someone was having by sharing useful and helpful information with the community, many of whom don’t have the chance to see the show themselves so relied on that blog for updates about something they’re interested in and excited about
i know it’s a minority as opposed to a majority, which i’m thankful for, but some of you really need to pull yourselves together because you’re not gonna make it very far if you treat people like that in person. doing it behind a screen is fucking stupid

i definitely agree about paul!! not to mention that paul also turned everyone against cherry!!
with the others, i think they aren’t’ unsupportive but they’re definitely wary at first! they know chet has good intentions, but they’re a little worried about cherry dating again so soon. they don’t have anything to worry about, though, because chet is constantly asking them for advice
do you think bob or chet liked cherry first? how did chet feel when bob got with cherry? how would bob react if he found out chet liked cherry while he was dating her?

i think bob liked her first, and that chet only started to have a crush on her during her relationship with bob!! something about him being close with his best friends’ girlfriends, except this time it’s something more

bob with bpd. sigh. him lashing out cause his emotions are always at 100 and he’s impulsive as fuck. thinking he really is all that but then going to thinking he may be nothing really quickly!!! he just gets told it’s just him being a teen boy so he never gets to know what’s up with him. the intrinsic feeling he has where he knows somethings off but since people are giving him the attention he craves he doesn’t really care
