You know what? I’m just gonna say it.
Baxter is one of the best characters ever to exist on Downton Abbey. Thomas brought her to Downton Abbey to manipulate her, but instead of becoming his enemy, she genuinely cared about him and became one of his closest friends. She made Molesley more confident in himself and encouraged him to achieve his goals. In general, she was a good friend to everyone downstairs. Baxter recovered from an abusive relationship, took responsibility for her past actions, and truly changed her life for the better. People may criticize her for being meek and “boring”, but they fundamentally misunderstand her character. Her quiet, kind, and gentle nature is what makes her strong. Overall, Baxter is a great character who does not deserve to be disrespected and Raquel Cassidy is a great actress who does not deserve to be overlooked.
