how would a Superbat proposal go? who would pop the question? is there enough therapy in the world to get Bruce to a point where he would even consider that Clark might want to marry him? or does he blurt it out in the middle of battle when one of them is injured, then spend the next week hiding out of fear that he's ruined everything?
/o\ :D I’ll be honest with you, anon, I’m not a big fan of huge showy romantic gestures, so my immediate inclination is DEFINITELY toward the accidental blurting and/or lowkey musing-aloud wait-what-did-I-just-say end of things. Clark popping the question feels more to me like a blurt: he’s thought about it, he’s decided against asking (at least … right now; he WANTS to, but he’s just not sure how Bruce would take it, he—uh—he just doesn’t want to jump the gun or mess it up), except he’s still thinking about it and can’t stop, and it just sort of … falls out. And, well, you know me: angsty version is Bruce thinks he’s kidding, and/or that he feels obligated in a good Kansas boy way because they’ve been doing whatever they’re doing for so long; fluffy version is he’s expecting Bruce to yell at him, but instead Bruce is just staring and—and maybe turning sort of pink? Is that Clark’s imagination? Wait a second—
Whereas Bruce doing it would be less blurting and more an absent slip of the tongue; not that he’s been dwelling on the idea, as such, but for whatever reason (trying to work out wills, or medical contacts in case of emergency, or *waves hands* something totally logical), comfortably working away on three non-urgent problems at once, it’s a mild and less-than-serious solution: “Or we could just get married,” he murmurs, attention split five ways, and then he hears himself and looks up and Clark’s staring at him and definitely not laughing, even though that was—a joke. Right? Wasn’t it? *cue at least two weeks of avoidance and self-torture imagining what it would be like; not that it’s going to happen, but if it did—if it did, that would be—* And then Clark corners him, all flushed and determined, like, “Yes, okay? You said it, you can’t take it back, and I’m saying—yes.” :D
When you’re a kid, they tell you it’s all…grow up, get a job, get married, get a house, have a kid, and that’s it. But the truth is, the world is so much stranger than that. It’s so much darker and so much madder. And so much better.

Thomas Hamilton is ALIVE and was reunited with his truest love in a scene that was the most pure expression of love I've ever seen with my own two eyeballs and they are happy and will spend the rest of their lives together and this is an actual thing that happened on a television show what the fuck. I'm still not over it. HELP
GOD I KNOW IT’S JUST. I’LL NEVER BE OVER IT.
