Oblonsky is a lover of pleasures of the flesh. He likes women and food and drink. He is a social animal and is not introspective and is not burdened with a sense of guilt about his actions. But he is not a callous man. He loves his friends and he loves the love of his friends, and he fails a bit in his own marriage.

Matthew Macfadyen spam ♔ part 19/?
"I couldn’t look at him (Matthew Macfadyen) without giggling, because he just looked like a big daft dog. [Laughs] He has all this silly facial hair, and is always looking apologetically at Dolly because he’s screwed up again and been caught with another woman, or whatever." - Kelly Macdonald (x)

I do like period dramas. Especially if they’re good stories. It’s more the story than the period that matters. I guess if you kept doing them you might find yourself saying, “Oh, not again.” Some actresses must think, “Not another bonnet!” You could get into a rut.

"He’s played Oblonsky in just the right way: charismatic, frustrating, lovable – and selfishly addicted to passion." Kelly Macdonald (x)
