Werewolves in the Trail of Cryptids

for my good friend @jennywolfgal and her project the Trail of Cryptids. This time for a lil halloween special we focus on something more human, and simultaneously inhuman at the same time :) I also had a legendary breakthrough with the writing phase and both me and jenny worked on the description at the same time. Hope yall enjoy, hoping this wasn't too similar to someone else's take on werewolves. And Happy Halloween everyone!

I’ve been working out my werewolf lore and revamped some old ocs to show off the different types of were-creatures

So there are 6 types: Felidae, Vulpine, Lupine, Panthera, Ursidae, and Cryptid.

You can usually identify the subtype based on looks alone, specifically the height of the Lycan form in relation to their human form, thier Lycan face shape and bone structure.

Meet Slumoat, goddess of Gluttony, Feasts and Hunger!!

Roughly the size of an elephant when in the mortal plane, Slumoat, can and will eat anything and everything. She’s mostly known for her seeming endless appetite, often spending weeks to years scavenging and eating everything in her path. Once she is finally satisfied Slumoat will curl up and sleep for multiple years.

Slumoat is often considered an Omen, usually appearing to mortals just before a famine and lingers nearby until it’s over. Many rightly fear her presence. BUT Slumoat can sometimes be seen as a mark of prosperity, especially when someone mistakes her sleeping form for a hill or mountain. A dormant Slumoat is much more appreciated than an awake one.

Slumoat does have a mortal equivalent called the Moat Pig, a breed of semi-feral pigs bred for their meat. These pigs are larger than average and are just as insatiable as Slumoat herself. They’re pretty smart and very hard to contain in one place. It’s pretty common for Moat pigs to break out of their farms and not come back until after they’ve rummaged through every nearby dumpster and garden.
