FFXIV: More personal milestones!
No sense putting Dawntrail in the title until there's actual updates to Dawntrail itself, right?
So last time I updated, I mentioned getting my own place! Yay! I'm still so excited by it!
Well, in the interrim, I've maxed out Warrior to 100 (which is just a hella fun job holy shit) and made progress on the extremely-grindy Shadowbringers relic I was stuck on for months. 30 pieces each of six different items that only dropped from synched raids (or from Zadnor, which is a ghost town and scary as hell when empty) finally done, so now I just run a few level 70 dungeons synched and I'm golden.
I finally sat down and maxed out my crafters.
Does this make me an omnicrafter? IDK
This was a lot of fun and was a personal triumph because Gathering and Crafting are fun (Byregot is my Patron of the Twelve, after all!) and I've been long trying to get this finished. Now it's done!
In the process of doing this, via using Levequests and Grand Company turn-ins to expedite it (if you know, you know), I have been selling off my excess materials and crafts via my retainers and have recouped almost half of my housing expenses already!
I've also taken the time to properly kit out my two retainers, Blorbo (the Botanist who looks a lot like a certain Elezen scion) and Miesque (a Paladin who looks like a certain miqo'te scion) so they both have the best gear they can have right now, which means I can send them out on ventures and get good shit back.
Also, remember this post? The one where I fight Valigarmanda for the first time, with the Scions?
I've been revisiting that fight several times lately with my White Mage, testing out some rotations and just to enjoy the fight. It's legit one of my favorite fights in the entire game. And let me tell you, it is SO MUCH EASIER after having done the EX. There are entire phases that this fight just doesn't do (which, I mean, duh, that's to be expected) but also I'm just better at the fight now.
In the mean time, I'm working on Endwalker Rolequests since I've been very remiss about them.
Currently working on the Melee DPS rolequests, and these feature Admiral Merlwyb, the leader of Limsa Lominsa (my starting city and the main reason I joined the Maelstrom as my Grand Company.)
Enjoying these as much as I am, it makes me that much sadder for when I get around to doing the Dawntrail rolequest because they're just such a letdown after this.
Oh, btw, I get to reunite with the Company of Heroes! Remember them? WAAAAAAAAAAY back in early ARR, after you joined the Scions but before Livia did her fuckin thing? That long quest to figure out how to kill Titan?
U'odh Nunh is not a catboy, he is a catdaddy. (That's what the Nunh means btw. He's the U-tribe's main male, the breeding male, so he gets all the ladies in his tribe! Fun facts!) And he likes to fuckin stick it to his buddies.
Another fun fact, because I'm playing a Hyur, we have one of each of the five original playable races plus a bonus goblin (the only female member of the Company of Heroes in fact, little missy Brayflox!)
I'm not going to go through the whole plot of this, you can look it up, but I had to share some screencaps because this was a fun part of ARR for me, dealing with them.
I have done the EW Caster rolequests (featuring Aymeric of Ishgard), Ranged DPS (featuring HUSBANDO Hien, leader of Doma) and Healer rolequests (featuring Raubahn, leader of Ala Mhigo and a former leader of Ul'dah; also prominently featuring Fordola, who I hope they'll expand upon in the future but suspect they won't) and so all I have left are these with Merlwyb and then the Tank role quests with Kan-e-senna, the leader of Gridania.
Not a huge update, all in all, but I did want to share my personal accomplishments. A massive major grind is at an and end another grind (crafters) is finally done and in the books. Now to get more combat jobs to level 100.
