It was a sunny morning and as per usual, Rie was taking care of Pomefiore's garden.
She loved the flowers there with her whole heart and always made sure to take care of them so they would thrive for a long time.
After having flowered a bush of roses, she slowly lowers her head close to the crimson flowers, taking in their sweet fragrance.
As she was enjoying their scent, suddenly she hears footsteps and a figure appears from behind the apple trees.
Rie smiles politely at the man who had just emerged from the shadows.
He seems to be looking for something... Or someone.
The tall, beautiful man appears from behind a large tree.
The man is dressed elegantly, wearing a purple, floor-length satin jacket over a black velvet dress shirt.
His skin and hair are pale, almost milky white.
He speaks in a cool, but gentle voice as he extends his hand to her.
His voice is calming, and he gives off an aura of comfort.
"You must be Rie, if my memory serves me right...?"
The girl beams at Vil, happy that he remembered her.
Despite being in the same dorm and having performed together a few times, they almost never spoke to each other outside of practice so she thought he didn't pay attention to her, especially since they had never been introduced to each other.
"How could I ever forget someone so... beautiful?"
He pauses for a moment, his voice becomes deeper and even softer.
"I didn't expect to see someone so gorgeous this morning. You look absolutely stunning."
His eyes become fixated on Rie as he inspects every piece of her.
He seems very impressed, as his smile is still soft and warm.
"Who designed your outfit? It's amazing.
If I had not guessed you as being from Pomefiore before, your choice of fashion would have been a dead giveaway."
"Thank you for your kind words"
Rie's smile grows softer and fonder as she thinks of the one who designed her dress.
"This was actually designed by my best friend Rubia, she's from Octavinelle's dorm..."
Rie says proudly as she twirls around, showcasing the dress in all its beauty.
"It looks gorgeous, doesn't it?
It's so beautiful it even makes someone like me seem pretty"
She chuckles, happy that her dearest friend was getting the recognition she deserved.
Rubia was truly amazing, she excelled in everything she did.
Rie was very proud of her friend and knowing that the nymph was a part of her life always filled the girl's heart with joy.
"It looks absolutely astounding.
I can't believe miss Rubia herself designed it herself.
I am also glad this grand dress found a fitting muse that could wear and display it beautifully.
May I get a better glimpse at your hair?
The colour is so very interesting.
I believe I have never seen anything like it.
How wonderful, your hair truly complements your figure, I believe that perfectly enhances your aura of beauty."
Rie shudders at Vil's words as she quickly collects her hair in a bun.
"I apologise, Pomefiore's rules require to tie one's hair in a fitting manner, yet I let mine loose–"
People usually never paid much attention to her, so Rie never saw this as a problem, yet it seems that her hair had now been a dead giveaway about her identity to Vil's attentive eyes.
May I have permission to take note of the style in which you have your hair?
I'd like to see if I can get someone to recreate it ... or something similar, though I doubt they will have the same effect as you."
Vil pauses for a moment, seemingly lost in the girl's charm.
'I could look at her forever' he thinks to himself.
"I am Vil, Housewarden of Pomefiore.
A pleasure to make your acquaintance."
Rie's eyes widen in surprise.
While they had had the chance to talk before at practice, this was the first time they had been officially introduced to one another.
"I am Zephyr Luxferens, but please, feel free to call me Rie"
The girl smiles politely at Vil as she curtsies.
The man bows in return, his body movements graceful and elegant.
"Zephyr is the spring wind god from Greek mythology, I gather?
And that last name… Luxferens? It's Latin for light bearer, is it not?
You have a very poetic name... is it a relative of the fae variety or perhaps, a mermaid from the sea?
I must admit, I am incredibly interested in how something as mysterious and magical sounding as Zephyr came into being."
Vil smiles warmly at Rie, showing that he means no offense and truly does want to know the answer to his genuine question.
Rie chuckles as she retrieves her gardening tools.
"I am afraid I cannot answer to your question... but maybe we can be friends and you can try to find out yourself? Are you up for the challenge?"
she smiles softly at the beautiful man.
"I would love to be your friend."
Vil replies, smiling in kind.
"I shall be sure to make a few inquiries..."
He pauses for one moment, considering whether or not he should ask the question and just go for it.
"It seems like I cannot remember who you said your family was?
I assume your ancestors hold some sort of position in some ancient monarchy.
An historical name withholding such a noble meaning must be the result of an highest quality tradition... I would not expect you to be anything less than a princess."
"A princess, hm? Is that the answer you've set yourself on?"
Rie hums as she turns around to face Vil.
"Well then, your Highness, this princess has to take her leave now, but she will be more than delighted to see you around if Fate so wishes"
She elegantly bends her knees as she curtsies and turns around, offering Vil one last smile before heading back to her room, leaving Vil in the garden.
His eyes follow her every movement as she makes her exit.
He stands there for a moment, as though he expects her to return.
When she does not, he smiles contentedly at her departure.
He turns to walk away, but not before pulling out a notebook and sketching a rough picture of her in it.
As he turns to leave he mutters to himself, seemingly lost in a train of thought.
"She is definitely a creature meant for a throne."
