Yup yup…
Elsa Lanchester- the BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935)
A cowboy versus T-Rex by William Stout, from his book “A Tribute to Willis O’Brien Volume Two.”
I know what you’re thinking, but you’re mistaken. This is not a scene from “The Valley of Gwangi” (which was based on a story Willis O’Brien developed but never got a chance to make during his lifetime), but of the much earlier “The Beast from Hollow Mountain.” The plot of “Hollow Mountain” was based on two ideas O’Brien was pitching, but he was barred from working on the film by the studio, so other people did the special effects which is why they appear so sub-par, especially when compared to O’Brien’s work.
When “The Valley of Gwangi” was finally made in the 1970s the stop-motion animation was done by none other than O’Brien’s former student, Ray Harryhausen.
