When feminists use it, it’s to highlight the parts of our reality that exist precisely because we are female.

The state of being of the female sex in no way negates the fact we are human. These are neutral facts. However, when incels and various misogynists say it, it means they do not view women as also being human, seeing our female bodies as a mark of inferiority.

So no, use of the word female is not inherently wrong, and feminists are not comparable to misogynists for using it as a descriptor.
