Taken during two separate play-tests, but this was the first autonomous action taken by both of them.
Just for fun, here’s some close-ups of my reworked baby dolls in action.
I just finished playing Dino’s round, so hopefully I’ll have the updates ready in a week or two. In the meantime, please enjoy the Charlatan being menaced by a stray Pomeranian.
That’s where we’ll leave the Baxter’s for now, ending with the first of what I’m sure will be many parties to come.
Sarah & Don have climbed back up to best friend status, & seem to be enjoying a little honeymoon period right now.
But who knows what the future has in store. Especially when it takes more than two people to make a love triangle.
Next up The Ross Household.
“Sarah?”
“Yes, Don?”
“Thank You. I’m glad you didn’t give up on me.”
“Me too.”
“Sounds like they’re playing our song, Don.”
“Sound like it. Why don’t we get these plates cleared away, then you & I can spend some time one-on-one.”
“Well, Firecracker, I think we can count our very first dinner party as a success.”
“Yeah, everyone seemed to get along great. I’m sorry my sister was so rude to you.”
“Hey, Virginia can be as cold as she likes. I’m just glad everyone else had a good time.”
“Geez, Dweeb. How did you get crumbs all over you? I thought I was the messy one.”
“I didn’t notice. Hey, thanks for inviting us, tonight was actually pretty chill.”
“I’m glad. You guys are welcome around any time.”
Virginia was incredibly relatable. She spent the whole party either with Comet, or watching TV. I don’t think she spoke to anyone.
“Thomas, come in. I’m glad you could make it.”
“Of course, Don. I hear you & my Sarah have patched things up?”
Don could feel the waves of ice coming of Virginia. He could also tell she was making a big show of ignoring him, but noticed her eavesdropping. Fine, if she wanted to be petty, Don could do petty.
“Of course, Sarah & I are stronger than any little misunderstanding.”
“Ugh, do we really have to have to be here, Pop? It’s going to be so awkward.”
“& who’s fault is that?”
“Shut up, Jack.”
“You shut up.”
“Stop it, both of you. We’re going to have a nice family dinner with your sister, & I don’t want to hear another word about it from either of you.”
“Don, you remember Naenae. I hope you don’t mind, I invited her to dinner too.”
“Not at all. I hope you don’t mind I burned dinner ...twice.”
“I’ll handle it. Can you entertain Naenae until my folks get here?”
“Of course, I’m sure we’ll get along great.”
“Ahhh, not again! Maybe I should just leave this to Sarah.”
Once Jim leaves, Alex hops in the bath to warm up, & to get cleaned up before the rest of the family gets here. He’s a little nervous, Auntie Virginia & Uncle Jack are always a little weird around him, & he doesn’t know why.
He’s distracted however by a weird noise.
“No, Comet! Bad! We don’t pee in the bedroom.”
Meanwhile, Don spends the morning getting a start on his next painting. After while he figures it’s time to get the house warmed up a little.
Then he tries to get a head start on dinner, he’s not a great cook, but at least he can keep a better eye on the boys from the kitchen.
