so the first one is samantha-louise "anth" brooks . shes a 30-something nonbinary lesbian anddd shes like if a bird that flew into a window and died was an alive girl
i suppose you could say shes an unwilling [+ unknowing] avatar of the end ? she died as a kid for a total of Three Minutes and then Got Better . and since then she has had countless near-death experiences ! she feeds the end by constantly confronting doctors with disturbingly impossible cases. shes been a "medical miracle" on countless different occassions <33
she also ties into the gambling aspect of the end by. constantly putting her life in danger. because she's escaped death so many times, she Assumes theres something weird going on? but she doesnt really Know. so any of these accidents, as far as she knows, COULD finally kill her. but if it really is impossible for her to die, she wants to put that opportunity to good use! so she gets a job as a practical researcher in artefact storage . where she goes out of her way to mess with the Most Dangerous Artefacts She Can Find. and sometimes gets in trouble for trying to bring them home, because apparently her boss doesnt agree that its safer that way .
one fun fact about her is that when I first made her the idea was that she'd eventually get a girlfriend who would help balance out that "I Must Use This Power For Good By Putting Myself In Danger Constantly" instinct + help her Grow And Heal Emotionally. and then simply forgot to make her one . maidenless behavior fr
the second oc is sybil sherry !! shes a lesbian in her early 20s + shes definitely web ALIGNED but shes not quite avatar level . she had an Incident with the eye as a kid and ended up losing her mother . and is now trying to figure out what actually happened :]
and shes doing this by. interning at the magnus institute! though if you ask the other employees, none of them are actually sure which department she interns for . OFFICIALLY its research, but she pokes around everywhere.
her whole deal is that shes trying to bring down the institute from the inside . without drawing attention to herself. and starting from ground zero with no information about the entities. and making sure elias doesnt notice
she does this by presenting herself as the most uninteresting coworker possible shes the most average intern to have ever existed. nothing to Look At here !! she makes sure shes not too good at her job. not too bad at it. just sort of clumsy and boring to talk to but with just enough small talk skills to rope you into a conversation once in a while. shes very good at making people give up the information she wants without them realizing theyve given her anything at all :]
so she slowly figures out whats going on. and what makes each of her coworkers tick. all of their motivations and alliances and such. piece by piece.
shes rly just. npc coworker goes home to her flat with its 4-wall stringboard and meticulously adds information about all of the office's drink orders . whats that? isnt all of this concerningly similar to what the eye is all about? yk. the eye . the entity that shes trying to defeat? ummm. she tries not to think about it . trust her this master plan will come together at some point haha she just has to figure out all the moving pieces. and how to start moving them herself :] hey are there an abnormal amount of spiders in this apartment building do you think? hmm youre right theres probably not enough actually. my bad
