Joyful loki?

Loving Sigyn for the soul?
Healing image
Ashamed Odin??? I love how you draw him
I have never drawn him from this angle and you can tell lamo
(And thank you! Omg!!)
Can you do myth!Frigg with Smug??? Dunno if you have an actual design for her, but if not, any other goddess is fine :)
She has a design, but a work in progress one
‘AIGHT here we go! We know the drill, send a character and an expression through the inbox and I’ll get to what I can today! I’ll put fandoms for ideas in the tags bc this blog has no focus anymore lamo
(Also the way I couldn’t find the original poster of this so if you know let me know please and I’ll add the link here! Or if I find it on my own)
Ok, I did a rough lineup of the gals I’ve designed so far and wow it’s funny looking at them all standing together like this
Still working on the line up and I’m realizing how FUNNY this height difference is.
So that’s Sif on the left…and her daughter Thrud on the right. She definitely got her height from her dad lamo
There's a reason he had to put together a whole disguise to get the knowledge he wanted
Another preview of the same page from before. I just wanted Sigyn to match ;-;
They’re watching their daughter beat a man up
A little preview of something that was supposed to be art practice and ended up becoming a whole thing and a half.
Doing a lineup of my norse goddesses to make sure they have unique body types and silhouettes and…shsfafdja I’m crying over how short I made Sif
Sigyn on the far left is 5’7 (170cm) for reference
huge Norse myth nerd, was wondering if you have any ideas for art of Odin's taking woman's form to learn the magic of women? Or his hanging in the tree to learn the secrets of the dead (he's kind of knowledge sexual)
I actually hadn’t heard about his journey to learn the magic of women (which, to my knowledge, was accounting)
But I love how knowledge hungry he is because it makes him a such a devious figure. He may be an old man, but when Frigg starts speaking in SAT words oh boy does he love it
I made this on a whim so it’s not great quality, but I thought it was funny. Each frame is under the cut
I felt weird only posting OC-tober things so…I’m back to it
Here’s my concept page for Sif. The way the fact that there’s like…nothing about her made me bite and scream. Yes, I know they didn’t write much of anything down before my man Snorri, but I’m still mad about it.
Sorry if you've been asked this! But who are some of your fav gods? :) any particular ones you don't like??
Love your art!! <3
It’s no problem! But I’m not really sure, none of them stand out as the end-all-be-all favorite yet.
I like Thor, he’s funny, but also like…I know the most about him because it’s hard not to know a lot about him after going through Norse Mythology. Like…look at him
As far as dislike, I can’t say I have any I dislike either? Odin’s on the fence ig but I can’t say I dislike him bc he’s also cool.
(Also aahh!! Thank you! <3 <3 <3)
Hai! Have you considered not drawing the Norse gods with chin stripes/chin tattoos? The old Norse never actually had those, nor did people they had cultural exchange with. The only people who did and do are arctic natives from Alaska, Greenland and Canada, such as the Inuit, Yup'ik and Aleut. They have been petitioning artists for a long time to stop depicting 'vikings' and Norse gods with chin stripes for a long time because they experience it as a form of cultural appropriation, of something that they used to be forbidden from doing and suffered immense consequences for.
I wasn’t aware that cultural tattoos were sometimes used on designs for the Norse gods, and I appreciate you sharing that with me! I’ll be sure to keep that in mind going forward with my designs. I’m gonna guess you’re talking about my Loki design though, just because he’s the only one with anything in the lip-chin area that’s not a beard.
I do wanna explain why I gave him those scars real quick, not to dismiss your point, but just for the sake of explaining my design choice so we all have better understanding.
This is the Snaptun Stone depicting Loki with scars on his bottom lip. From my understanding it comes from a story of his lips being sewn shut because he was being to tricky with his words and someone got fed up. I actually didn’t know this story until recently, I just read somewhere that he has six scars on his bottom lip and thought “Wow what a specific detail to give your rarely depicted god, I’ll throw that in there.”
But looking back at my design and looking at the chin tattoos from those cultures, I completely see how they look similar. So I’ll happily change the way I draw the scars and make them actually look like scars and not tattooed lines.
