Happy Friday, Bookworms! Here’s what the team at Simon & Schuster Canada is reading.

Holley, Publicity Assistant: I am currently reading The Wonder by Emma Donoghue. After listening to her speak at the Toronto Public Library a few weeks ago I had to get a copy! It is a beautiful novel that takes place in a 1850s Irish village that is baffled by Anna’s fast. 

Jordyn, Sales Operations Assistant:  I just finished The Assassin’s Blade, by Sarah J. Maas. It’s a fantastic collection of short stories about Celaena’s backstory and history with Sam. While it can be read any time throughout the series, I read it after Queen of Shadows so that I wouldn’t power through Empire of Storms and be sad that I have to wait so long for the next book! Alexandra, Marketing Assistant: I have been in serious thriller mode lately -- Amy Stuart, Ruth Ware, you name it, I'm reading it. So of course I had to pick up Iain Reid's I'm Thinking of Ending Things. I've only just started, but I'm already so intrigued by this plot!

Andrea, Digital Marketing Associate:  I just finished Transferral by Kate Blair; set in an alternate modern-day London where diseases can be transferred from one person to another (and guess what? Only criminals get sick). It’s an interesting premise used to explore deeper themes such as ethics, racism and classism. A fast-paced read you can finish in one sitting. A great debut!

Jacquelynne, Marketing Assistant:  These three GIF’s explain my love/emotions about Empire of Storms. Rowan and Aelin Reading the Book Overall Excitment. Alexandra, Marketing Assistant: I’ve been devouring In a Dark, Dark Wood. It’s the perfect level of creepy for me to read. I’m OBSESSED with this book and I’m stealing every second to read a little more.
