From bestselling author A.J. Banner comes a dazzling new novel of psychological suspense in the vein of S.J. Watson’s Before I Go to Sleep and Mary Kubica’s The Good Girl that questions just how much we can trust the people around us.

Here’s what the team at S&S Canada is currently reading:
Catherine, Marketing Assistant: I’m about 60 pages away from finishing Joe Hill’s epic novel, THE FIREMAN. It’s also my very last day at S&S Canada. This pretty much sums up my feelings about both of those things. :(
Holley, Publicity Assistant: I’ve just finished Ruth Ware’s IN A DARK, DARK WOOD and LOVED it. The eerie setting is perfect for the dark twists on what was supposed to be a fun hen night. It has made me slightly concerned for the bachelorette I have to attend at the end of the summer!
Jordyn, Sales Assistant: This week I started OWL AND THE JAPANESE CIRCUS by Kristi Charish. It’s basically Indiana Jane meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer, with more stealing and sarcasm. I know these books have an intense fan following, and I’m excited to jump on that bandwagon!
So many tears, so much love. Lily and the Octopus will give you all the feels.
Guaranteed to make your friends jealous with these!

What to do with your old books?
It’s time for a “book-tervention”
You know that moment when you realize that if your bookshelf fell on you, you would experience a tragic, dramatic, novel-worthy, death?
We’ve compiled a list of new homes you can give your old books that will make you feel-good and help others in the process:
Your Local Library
Many libraries will accept donations of gently used books, especially for recently published titles as these will usually have the longest wait periods for members!
Schools in Canada’s North
Some really excellent organizations are working to get books out to schools and libraries in Canada’s northern and excluded areas. Donate your books to an organization like Books With No Bounds. Started by two sisters, their mission is to bring books to students in the North in hopes of improving literacy skills among First Nations youth.
Donate to a Charity
Many amazing charities would be happy to take your used books off your hands! Charities like The Children’s Book Bank distributes them free of charge to children who might not otherwise have a chance to own their own books. Textbooks For Change will even take your old school textbooks (we know you’re not reading them) and send them to students in East Africa!
Prison Libraries
Support the rehabilitation of prisoners by donating your old books to prison libraries or an organization like Books 2 Prisoners. It’s an independent community-based group whose purpose is to broaden the range of reading materials available to prisoners throughout Canada.
