listen Valvert are always THE red-string-of-fate’d soulmates, star-crossed, tragically entwined, yadda, yadda, in any iteration of the canon and thats just the truth
but in this one. Javert. pls. Rivette was right!! There!! he’s nice on the eyes, dependable, supportive, and clearly absolutely adores you so maybe – and believe that it’s as strange for me to say it as it is for you to hear – maybe settle????? maybe “soulmates” is bullshit???? maybe you could have had a fellow cop boyfriend and you’d have the cutest dates running around Paris and putting the fear of The Law in the hearts of criminals????? with some breaks for the classic romantic report-writing and stakeout-ing???? and he’d sign and nod whenever you’d get a new burly criminal obsession of the month and he wouldn’t mind in the slightest bc he likes you as you are, no sense of humor and absolute moral rigidity and all??? huh? wouldnt that be swell??

One of my favourite things about les mis adaptations is trying to spot all the secondary characters that make it (that’s partially why I like the 64 adaptation so much). The beeb had some good ones.

spontanously writting a short “Rivette safes Javert” fic right now stay tuned
shame that the finale was the best episode of the series. I mean there was some good stuff in the other episodes (and this one had it’s faults) but the finale was the only episode that I unironicaly enjoyed for the most part
I wanted them to end on the withered gravestone because that shit make me feel things but bringing back the boys was actually a pretty neat choice

I think this might just have been my second favourite adaption of the Seine scene of all times and the stuff with Valjean and Rivette was also really, really good.

also the actor who plays Courfeyrac in this is such a gem and I’m thankful for all the great performances even if I’m not a fan of the script
