Eris and Asher together as children in their first lives.

Eris and Ikora hunting ahamkara together, and Eris confessing that one revealed her past to her.

Eriana-3 coming to Eris in the wake of the Great Disaster and traveling with her to find the exile Toland and recruit him to their cause, the three of them being the first in and the last alive until only Eris remained, guided by Toland’s knowledge even as his body rotted somewhere in the Hellmouth.

Asher nursing Eris back to health and Ikora trusting Eris when no one else did and Osiris walking alongside Eris to the throne of Mara Sov to hatch a plan to kill a god.

Mara and Eris sharing in secret schemes together, Mara trusting Eris with her life and death as they built a throne world shaped in the Light. Eris, Mara’s final thought as she was annihilated, and the first person on her mind as she awoke in Oryx’s throne.

Toland reaching out to Eris when Oryx arrived, and giving her words of comfort and encouragement and the tools needed to kill a god. Toland coming to Eris’ side when she was abandoned in Crota’s oversoul throne by Savathun, encouraging her to resist and press on.

The push-and-pull of it all: that Eriana was her best friend and the reason for her fate and Toland put his quest for knowledge above their mission and yet has never left her side. Ikora must protect Eris yet must also risk Eris and Eris pulls away as she tries to keep her safe. Mara believes most in her yet would be the one who would free her archnemesis. She spent lifetimes with Asher and yet could not be with him at the end. She knew something was wrong with Osiris but could not name it.

And Savathun, storyteller, wearing the face of Eris in letters to us. Inventing a backstory for the mortal Eris that paints her as preternaturally strong and capable. Savathun, preoccupied by names and titles, bestowing Eris a name that means transcendent / immortal / beautiful / wise, and calling her child, and calling her one with her, and writing about Eris symbolically bearing her child.

And some other timeline, where it is all true and Eris and Savathun are almost the same and the universe suffers for it.

And this timeline, where Eris would risk her life and slay gods and burn down whole power structures for the people she has loves and how those people are overwhelmingly warlocks.
