this fic is so so so wonderful its my current hyperfixation and i will never recover from it<33
hc that Sirius is super protective over people he loves. like he's insanely protective. he goes into guard dog mode. if one person is even slightly rude to people he calls his, bam he lashes out in pure fury.
this is rooted in the way he always had to protect Regulus from his parents when they were kids. dysfunctional families often convince siblings that they have some sort of responsibility over each other. so its actually natural for both Regulus and Sirius to develop a strong sense of protectiveness over their loved ones. Sirius shows it loudly, lashing out at people who even breath the wrong way at his friends. while Regulus' protectiveness is more calculative and collected when he acts, but just as (if not more) dangerous

Bonding over hate of snape and love and protectiveness of Harry. Regulus teasing Sirius about Remus. Avoiding the James size elephant in the room.
yes actually i really love this but how would they interact when sirius escaped from azkaban and regulus was at hogwarts and sirius saw him a few time and didn't know if he would approach him or not, thinking regulus is a spy for voldemort when he's a double agent for dumbledore regulus not being able to believe his brother could ever be responsible for james and lily's deaths and knowing he's innocent but could never prove it or save him regulus never knowing who the black dog he fed once in hogsmeade was
