like yes i think they did date sometime in maybe 5th, 6th year (and made remus & lily so so jealous) and even though they weren't IT for each other, they weren't each other's remus or lily, sirius wasn't going to marry mary (hehe) and settle down have 3 kids and grandchildren and buy a cute apartment together, but they learned from dating each other, i truly think they did. they learned what it was to love someone, or maybe not love someone and how that was okay, because they were just stupid teenagers learning how to love. and that's okay. and they weren't perfect for each other, they weren't, but they were happy together to kiss and shag and have fun, like teenagers do.

and it's not even just about them dating, they're platonic soulmates and i love love love them for it. they're so different in so many ways, just like how this quote from just lovers says: "He's a rich pureblood boy with a shit family and heaps of issues to carry around with him every day; she's a muggle-born girl with a lovely family and no reasons behind the issues she repeatedly brushes off when they try to cling to her.
