The Valkyrie Thrima

Like I said in my last post my interpretation of Adult! Vali ends up marrying a valkyrie though I didn’t say her name. That being said in my Post Ragnorak au-ish retelling Vali ends up marrying Thrima who is a valkyrie mentioned in Snorri’s Nafnapulur in a section of Skaldskaparmal. Her name means “fight” or she’s called the valkyrie of fight. Other than the meaning of her name and her being listed as a valkyrie there isn’t much else about her in the actual mythology. So I kinda did my own spin on her in my interpretation she’s pretty headstrong and stoic but has a soft side to her as well that Vali brings out.

As for their relationship Thrima met Vali after she saved him from a stupid situation he got himself into(just like his father). As Thrima and Vali got to know eachother they hit things off. Soon the two fell in love with eachother and got married awhile later. For once Thrima felt like she had someone she genuinely loved and cared about who also loved her back. While Vali found someone he felt that he could be vulnerable around without having the fear of feeling like he’s being judged. Both had pretty rough lives before meeting eachother but find comfort in the relationship they have now.
