"I love you"
Those words didn't seem to belong in an Astartes lips, yet those were the only words that could describe what Invictus felt for Lorien.
The Emperor's Children left a tender, soft kiss upon Lorien's forehead, his beloved Angel, taking a moment to appreciate those crimson eyes that enchanted him from the very first time. The left one slightly lighter than the right, both equally vibrant; "Like two fierce garnets" Invictus thought. He smiled, invaded by a warmth only those eyes could give him, giving another kiss on the Blood Angel's forehead, softly caresing his cheek with his hand, using his thumb to draw the sillhouete of his face, like a blind lover exploring his loved one's features, appreciating them, loving each detail, the texture of his skin, the warmth of his body, the curve of his small lips.
Lorien gave him a soft smile, resting his head on Invictus's chest, surrounding him with both his arms, looking for shelter in the Emperor's Children body. Warm, like the sands of Baal, like home. A whirlwing of words appeared in Lorien's mind, looking for the right one to say, wanting to express what he felt for Invictus, as he just did for him. He wanted him to know that he loved him too, but those words felt alien to him. Romantic speeches and words were a thing fit for someone like an Emperor's Children, but not for him. Invictus knew it, and didn't care, because he knew Lorien was different, unique. That's why he loved him.
"I'd let you eat my hearts" said the Blood Angel, still resting on the chest of his partner "I'd let you eat my hearts and drink my blood".
For anybody else, those words would seem grotesque, gross, but Invictus smiled, because those were the words of Lorien.
"I'd keep them as a treat" answered the Emperor's Children "I'd enjoy them slowly, so they would last as much as they can for me" continued "But i'll be sad the moment they're gonne, i know i would never taste something like that again"
"I would let you eat the rest of my guts then"
"I prefer them inside you, my Angel. That way i can keep hearing your voice, and feeling your warmth" said Invictus, kissing his head, as he embraced him with his arms, caressing his hair with one of his hands.
"I would eat your progenoid" said Lorien.
"Yes?" Invictus laughed "My apothecary would kill you"
"He could try"
"You could take it now" said Invictus "I would break my black carapace for you, so you don't have to do anything else than just consume me"
"You keep spoilling me..." said Lorien, letting a soft laught. He felt understood, known. Loved.
"How couldn't i, my love?" said Invictus, giving another kiss on Lorien's head, feeling the smell of his hair, memorizing it, identifying it.
For a moment, the Crusade seemed irrelevant.
