Can we just stop for a minute here and appreciate the fact that Spock, an individual who has so steeped himself in Earth culture that he can recognize theatre and poetry by a single recited line, discern composers and artists from hundreds of years ago by penmanship or brushstroke, and recite just about any historical scientific discovery along with how it works, somehow still thought that Jim could just up and get him a six-pound block of platinum in 1930 on a contract labourer’s salary?
