as kind of a celebration for my recent show, i'll share a story about this painting, You Have Some Nerve.
When i was in the middle of my 20-painting series challenge, I was getting ready to leave for school, walked into the bathroom, and hit my funny bone really hard on the doorframe. It hurt like crazy, but after cringing at the pain, I saw my vision go to static, my hearing muffled, and the next thing I remembered was being on my knees with my head on the floor. I didn't exactly fully black out, but I definitely lost enough consciousness to not remember how much time it had been in between and not remember how i got on the floor. I was scared and stumbled to go lie down once my consciousness was back, and eventually i looked it up and found that yes, you can faint as a result of hitting your funny bone hard enough. New surprises from the body all the time.
