yall are SLEEPING on eps 1-3. just because the love story isnt the centre of the show yet doesnt mean its boring or not worth ur time. these episodes are genius and hilarious smh

The ppl that i have seen make such statement (that the show is good just when Black Beard appears finally, that is) is ppl that find queerness of Stede bad, bored, and such, bc "is not a real pirate". They are basically the ppl that the show denounce and why the show is set in piracy world. This kind of ppl, in their mysoginistic queer hateful mindset upset that we see Stede and his not macho self being. I distintibly recall read a post with tons of reblogs compaining that they don't like the first caps bc who wants to see Stede with his colourful outfits, telling bedtime stories to the crew, he feeling bad and anxious, that they want to see Black beard bc that's when the story is good.

Frankly, that queer ppl (or anyone really )watch the show and don't see the obvious critic to the macho gay culture and other fascist problems in the community, and specificaly in the gay community, baffles me, and makes me remember why I always lost faith in my communites

Plus, if you’re actually interested in somebody and want to know who they’re into you could o i don’t know,,, fucking ask them? Talk to them like a normal human being? Maybe get to know someone before you sink your teeth into them?

Like this idea that everyone must immediately know every label that could be stuck onto you or else you’re doing them a huge disservice is just fucking bananas and literally useless outside of a culture where suffering can be cashed in for permission to cause suffering, and that’s all this whole thing is about- wanting permission to pick on somebody because somebody else picked on you.
