I can’t express enough what a confidence booster this was, especially since I’m struggling in the middle of planning a longer story rn <3 I’m so glad to hear you’ve been reading for so long!! Even when I haven’t talked with people directly or only on anon, it’s just really cool to know there’s that kinda history lol.

I’ll admit I’ve thought about moving stuff onto AO3 before, but have just avoided it out of embarrassment. Writing fics for shinee is really the first time I ever tried writing stories or anything, so looking back at it can feel a bit...oof, even if I am fond of an older story (tho I feel that way looking at present stuff too).

So...thank you anon for the little push/encouragement. ^^ I will work on at least getting my longer stories up there so they’re easier to read!

I felt some weird self-created pressure to keep only the ‘highest quality’ stuff I’ve done on there, but I mean...it IS an archive, so it’s fair to put everything up haha. And tumblr is kinda a tough place to read fics on (also calling myself out for never updating my masterlist).

If I do try and fill this, it’ll probably be for that skies of arcadia/pirate verse, set on the first night jongyu met. ^^ It’ll also probably be a while away.

Aw, thank you for thinking of me! It's always really sweet to hear when people are reminded of stuff I've done, especially when it's an old one.

Unfortunately, I don't have any plans to participate in summer of shinee this year. :( I'd really love to since it's always been fun, but I think I need to skip this one for my mental health, and since I'm already juggling a bunch of other WIPs. Querying is also draining the hell out of me, even though I haven't sent out many and haven't gotten any direct rejections yet, lol.

I do plan on entering something for the Taemythological fest (https://twitter.com/taemythos) since I had an idea inspired from a game which fits the theme and I feel like I'll have an easier time handling a self-prompt rather than trying to fill one. Already had a few thousand words written for the idea when I saw the fest announcement, so figured I might as well.

Thank you so so much ;-; You're too sweet!! That one's really personal to me so it always means a lot to hear that.  I had a lot of fun writing it and it's so nice to know people are still enjoying it. ^^

I think he continues giving blood for a while at least! After a few months, I think it's less frequent though he could still use the money, especially once Jong expresses comfort with biting him lol. He values the fun of that over the extra cash and doesn't have long left in his master's program at that point.

They have each other's contact info, so they start keeping in touch via texting and everything and start to see each other regularly. ^^ I imagine they make pretty regular "hanging out" kinda dates even when they're busy -- just being at each other's place while working on grading/homewrok (for Jinki) and writing (for Jong).

I imagine it's just kinda the thing where drinking and/or exchanging blood with a vampire will turn you into one. It takes a few days for everything to settle and is very uncomfortable so not many people want to do it, lol. Jong was super into the vampire dude he started dating when he was like early 20s and thought it'd be worth it. The other guy was the same age as him (like in regular age) and had recently been turned.

He was a kinda artsy type and was very excited about his whole eternity ahead of him and stuff. Once he met Jong and they started dating, they both kinda got swept up in the romance of it all and the idea of "forever" so they just went for it. I imagine they just kind of grew apart with time and eventually broke up when they realized they weren't compatible anymore. I think the guy probably enjoyed his immortality a lil too much (in terms of getting wild) and Jong was not about that.

I don't have plans to continue it unfortunately…still working on wrapping up the third (yuck) draft of the thing I've been working on forever and am tryin my hands at another original thing that might work out to be a trilogy. That'll occupy me for the next several years I'm sure, tho I might drop in now and then with some small standalone fics. ^^;

Tbh I imagine Jinki lives with Jonghyun from the start, simply because that's the easiest option. I can see him intending to get his own place when he first gets there, but it ends up just…not getting any use of it because they spend so much time together/he always stays the night with Jong, anyhow. I imagine Jinki starts taking embroidery commissions for people and makes a decent amount of money through that (enough to support himself).

I defs think he wouldn’t tell anyone he used to a prince or anything. Jong's family would know ofc cause they'd met him once/know his name and everything, no one else would. Most people would just see him as a handsome dude that Jong happened to meet while he was in Aldovia and brought home.

Hi bb! I'm pretty good lately. ^^ Finally have found a bit of stability with my meds, I think, which has helped a ton...really, better than it’s been in years. 

I've thought about it a few times, since I still really enjoy writing them…it's more a matter of whether or not I'm comfortable posting, I guess? Primarily because nearly everything I write involves sex at some point or another, and selfishly…a lot of my other ideas I'd like to try and publish, lol. I don't have much hope any of them would be good enough so I'm kinda hoping to have a bunch of ideas/stories to throw out there. Maybe I'll look more into seeing how feasible it'd be to post a first draft online and then rewrite it alter, lol, and I think I’d be up for some drabbles at least once my second draft is done.

Another thing is in complete honesty…I have NO clue what I'm going to work on once my current wip is done, lol.

edit because i’m a bot and forgot how to answer things on tumblr and include the 1st msg: hi, i'm the anon asking about writing longer fics. your advice really helped and I found that with one my later jongyu fics a lot of the chapters were easier to write past 3,000 words using a few your methods and advice. a lot of my fics were stagnant at 2,000 words mainly because in my creative writing class that was the word limit for assignments and I always sort of believed that was the "magic" number so i felt disheartened when i read these amazing stories that were like 5k per chapter...

I can imagine being used to working with a word limit would make things hard! Writing habits can be so hard to break so I get what you’ve mean…I get kinda panicky whenever I notice something is “different” for a new story and worry I messed up/am deviating from some kinda rule. I get disheartened reading a lot of the time too tbh, it can be tough to feel like other authors capture something you can’t. ;-;

Breaks are always good tbh, and especially for writing longer fics…I need distance from them sometimes to let things sink in. I hope you find a good rhythm for chapter writing, and best of luck writing long things in the future!!!

Aw no, it doesn't sound weird at all!! I'm really glad you enjoy it. ^^ I've prolly said this too many times, but for me sex is just a big reflection of characters' feelings and dynamics so I just try and build from there. Everything that goes on physically is just kinda a reflection of that or wherever they're at with their relationship at that point in the story. I really had a ton of fun with their dynamic in this story, so I’m glad it felt realistic. ^^ It’s easy for me to see Taemin falling into that role the easiest I guess, esp if he has less relative experience. And as for bottom Jinki...it’s just a Vibe and a thing I’ve enjoyed lately for some reason, lol. They really have changed a lot over the years tbh and I love what they’ve grown into – I think that’s part of why it was easy for me to get into writing them. They’ve obviously cared about each other forever but their current cuteness just really pulls me in, lol.

Yeah, I wanna say I remember seeing the polls for Japan or w/e with what's popular, and it's always pairings with Jinki -- makes sense there's diff tastes everywhere. ^^ I started out as a 2min shipper myself and defs remember it having tons of content back in the day (idk about now tho). I wanna say someone did a poll a year or so ago with i-shawols and jongkey was still pretty far up there, which surprised me a bit! 

At least for me, I have trouble keeping perspective on that kinda thing cause I naturally got close to people who shipping/wrote the same stuff, lol, so I’ve felt like jongyu is pretty popular the last few years. And god onchicken...I defs remember that. 

Aw thank you so much omg! I appreciate the optimism about my wip too, lol -- I just started the second draft a week or two ago and it's already hard not to be down about it. ^^; Been doing a bit better lately now that it seems my new meds are finally working…hopefully these won't fade out on me like the last ones.

I've been out of the reading-fic loop for so long cause of stupid mental health stuff, I had no idea ontae was kinda rare, but I'm glad you enjoyed it!! They're seriously so sweet to each other irl, I love all their interactions.

I was super worried about writing Jinki as a bottom since I've feel like most people don't enjoy reading that as much (which is fair, I have preferences too lol), but I really had to go with it here and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it. ;o; It felt way more natural for him to take the lead that way (since he's more experienced/confident w a regular kinda hookup), and I think he leans that way in this universe anyhow (and I kinda see Jinki that way myself tbh). Maybe they'll switch eventually, but I think its pretty common when you first start sleeping with someone things are all fresh and exciting so they aren't gonna worry about trying anything new for a while, lol. Their dynamic in this fic was tons of fun to write and I'm super happy it paid off. ^^
