Here are all the public-domain cartoon VHS releases I could find that were sold with free microwave popcorn. You can find most of these (with even more pics of the artwork) on Ebay, some still with the (presumably) original package of popcorn. Notice how most of the boxes have extra room in them, to hold the tape *and* the popcorn…which must have been a bit awkward once the popcorn was used up, especially in terms of shelf space. The tapes are from New Age Video (1998, with various popcorn brands, apparently?), Goodtimes (1988, with Jiffy Pop), and United American Video (1990, with Act II). I do not own any of these, but if you have one lying around the house, invite me over, and we’ll have a movie night! (Offer subject to change, depending on budget, distance, familiarity, and time.)

According to manga artist, Kouji Izuki, Blender Bros. was a game by Hudson Soft and Infogrames, it was only released in the US because of trouble between the two companies. It had a manga serialized in Comic BomBom that was closely based on the game but due to trouble with the game’s release, it was cancelled. As a compromise, it could continue on as a gag manga with drastically different tone and style but that too was cut short.

Blender Bros.’s release on Steam seemingly out of nowhere got me thinking about the strangeness surrounding this game’s existence.

Hey just so yall know mangadex is going down bc big companies are cracking down on piracy. Please archive your favorite manga

Guys, its apparently even WORSE. Its 170 piracy sites, thats like ALL OF THEM!

Reducing the work of scanlators to just "piracy" is simply ludicrous. You're not even allowed to post raws or official translations on mangadex, it HAS to be a fan-made translation. There's so many manga out there with no official translations and the official company refuses to make them. Not to mention how much manga that already have official translation are poorly localized and/or censored.

Anime and manga culture in the west would literally not exist without piracy and people ""unlawfully"" making acessibility to people in other languages.
