Remember Pac-Man World? | Thursday, 10.17.24
Remember the original Pac-Man World 25 years ago? Originally, developed and published by Namco (now "Bandai Namco") it was released on October 15, 1999 in North America as a way to celebrate Pac-Man's 20th anniversary since the original arcade game (included in the game as a unlockable bonus) was released in 1980.
And, as of 2022, Now Production remastered the iconic 3D platformer from the ground up as "Pac-Man World Re-Pac", except it also includes post-launch DLC and a few tweaks to adjust any gameplay difficulty ranging from playing the game either on "easy", "normal", or on "hard". However, just like with Pac-Man Museum Plus, Ms. Pac-Man and several other established characters have either been removed or replaced entirely due to Bandai Namco's ongoing dispute with AtGames over the rights to Ms. Pac-Man herself. Plus, despite some belief, Pac-Man World Re-Pac isn't part of Bandai Namco's Encore series of remasters unlike a few games like Mr. Driller Drill Land ("Mr. Driller Encore" in Japan) and Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series ("Kaze no Klonoa 1+2 Encore" in Japan) for example.
