I mean honestly I don’t hate Harris. or Biden, who has actually done a lot of good in the last four years especially considering the mess he had to clean up. but whatever gets the “my imaginary moral high ground is more important than peoples’ lives” fucks to vote.

like she will probably be on the whole a legitimately good president and I think at a certain point the “ugh I know every option SUCKS but just hold your nose and vote” thing is just feeding the doomerism. things won’t just not get worse under a democratic president, they will improve. just because Harris does not hold the exact same views as a 20 year old tumblr socialist doesn’t mean she won’t make life tangibly better as long as we can get the house and senate squared away.

also Trump losing to a nonwhite woman might piss him off enough that he dies of rage like a sim so I think we should try it just in case.

"Elon Musk is literally bribing voters in swing states. Isn't that illegal!?"

If this thought has crossed your mind, then I'm sorry. I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you this.

But it will be the election this November that decides if it's illegal or not.

This year, we are at the breaking point in the intersection of law and politics where whether or not the President's team can outright commit crimes to consolidate his power and destroy his enemies is on the ballot and up for vote.

Any red state can turn blue if enough voters turn out.

Gerrymandering can be beat by numbers.

Toxic labor culture can be beat by planning ahead and knowing your rights for time off for voting.

Limited polling places can be beat by planning ahead and helping others with transportation.

Long lines can be beat by knowing your rights about when you get in line. Many states require polling places to stay open.

Accessibility barriers can be beat by early/mail-in voting.

Voter purges can be beat by checking your registration status.

Despair can be beat by enthusiasm.

If you don’t wanna stand in line forever or you’re busy on the 5th, remember in most states early voting is going on until the 1st, so you can get it done this week if you want!

Early voting can help defeat a lot of these. It allows much more flexibility. Not every state is the same, but mine has early voting locations open on the weekends AND you can go to any polling place in your county.

Also make sure to use your state's official website to double check your polling place, what you need to vote, and see a sample ballot!

Above all else though you have to fucking vote. Not voting isn't a protest when they don't care and want to take voting rights away (and have in many states). Fascism isn't going to be like oh they didn't vote so ig we should pause and rethink our popularity. They don't want you to vote. Voting is the most powerful thing you can do. Be as angry and have as many feelings as you want about the state of us politics and the choices we have but you cannot decide your only option is to not fucking vote

This is even more important now that the assassination attempt happened. We must stand strong against fascism by voting. Do not be apathetic do not give up. Do not be centrist and unsure. Don't not care. So much is at stake right now especially for marginalized people. Vote vote vote, because I can assure you trump supporters and Republicans at large especially now will show up to the polls and vote. Everyone else you need to as well.

Now that Joe bidens pulled out you absolutely have to go and vote I am begging you. Do not let apathy let you ignore the dire situation.

A Word On 2020

After watching the second-half of the first Democratic primary debate, I’d like to take the time to remind all of you, that it’s ok to duke it out over which candidate should get the primary ticket now, because I certainly do have candidates I love and hate just as you do, but when we start rolling closer to 2020, whoever wins the primaries,

YOU. HAVE. TO. BACK. THEM. UP.

You absolutely CANNOT stomp your feet and whine, refusing to vote because your pick didn’t cut it. There were a lot of factors that played into the 2016 election, but one of the biggest was the number of people who didn’t vote.

YOU. CANNOT. WRITE. A. CANDIDATE. IN.

We have this one chance to alter the course of our nation before we go over the cliff, and we can’t afford to blow it. Do not get sucked so far into debates online that you absolutely refuse to vote for someone at all if they are chosen. You have to learn from the mistakes made that brought us to where we are right now.

Get you act together, and vote.

What a wonderful initiative! Spread the word.

holy shit, spread this like wildfire guys before November

one of the biggest and most devious tools being used against voters now is that voting locations for lower income neighborhoods and neighborhoods that are primarily black or hispanic are suddenly closed down, in the middle of nowhere, or only open for 4 hours a day do whatever you can to help negate that being a barrier

This initiative is aimed at November 6th, 2018, and they are offering 50% off promo codes and free rides to underserved communities. The linked post reads:

  • Across the country, we’ll give away 50% off promo codes with our partners that encourage voter turnout. We’re thrilled to be working with Vote.org, Nonprofit Vote, TurboVote and more to help distribute codes to those who need them. We’ll also have a product integration to help passengers find their polling location.
  • For underserved communities, we’ll provide rides free of cost through nonpartisan, nonprofit partners, including Voto Latino, local Urban League affiliates, and the National Federation of the Blind.

Over 15 million people cited transportation as their primary barrier to voting in the 2016 election–that’s why we’re introducing The Ride to Vote.  Lyft will provide free and discounted rides to the Polls.  #TheRidetoVote]

84% of People Under 30 voted for Bernie Sanders but only 4% of People Under 30 voted

4% - only 4% and Bernie lost by .2%. Every vote mattered, some precincts were decided by coin toss! Your vote matters. If you want change you need to vote! The youth of Iowa let us down but this has just started! Get registered! Vote Sanders!

In most states, you can register to vote online! You can open a new tab RIGHT NOW and register!
