Important question:

Who on the Lost Light is the best at dodgeball?

Rung, because everyone forgets he's there and so he doesn't get tagged out.

But legit, I think Skids, Whirl and Drift. Maybe Getaway. Cyclonus and Ravage could be top tier if they cared but they don't. Rodimus has the right moves but the other side is always watching for the exact moment that he gets too caught up in showing off and, lbr, it doesn’t happen too far along into the game.

Perceptor doesn’t often participate but he dominates when he does. Brainstorm could be a champ if he was allowed to use his inventions in the game but, nooo, that’s “against the rules” apparently.

I was actually thinking about this while I was at the store, so I hope you don’t mind if I just add:

Skids is the guy always trying to catch balls so he can get his friends back in.

Cyclonus typically never throws a single ball throughout the whole game, just dodges and moves Tailgate bodily out of the way, but once in a blue moon, Whirl goads him into a “kill” count competition.

Thunderclash (who I forgot about originally because I half the time think of him as being perpetually comatose) would be a strong player, both because of his skill and because of almost everyone being reluctant to tag him, but Rodimus nails him in the face at the start of every game.

Quick headcanon

This can apply to most continuities, but especially to TFA…

But please imagine Decepticons– who loathe the idea of being perceived as warm-and-fuzzy like an Autobot– finding another way to expression devotion or affection.

Swearing undying loyalty, sharing what little there is in resources… these things are obvious in their intentions. ‘I will stand with you on the battlefield’ and ‘I will support you’... demonstrating a rare, but genuine interest in another’s well-being.

But when they really want to lay it on thick? They do something even rarer…

They pledge to mourn them, openly, should they fall.

While to an Autobot it may seem macabre, this means a great deal to Decepticons– who, as a reminder, are often made up of (former) “undesirable” and “disposable” castes. In their old life, no one would care if they lived or died. In their current life, the realities of war are harsh, and so you cannot afford to care for every single fellow soldier, when you know any day may be their last.

Deep feelings are seen as a vulnerability, as a weakness…

But when a Decepticon pledges to mourn you, they are saying they will willingly be vulnerable– if only for a moment– just for you.

B-127

I couldn’t help but wonder why Bumblebee has a designation of B-127, and everyone else has a name. So what if everyone on Cybertron starts off with this kind of designation, O–132, R-759, etc. and ultimately every bot chooses their name based on their experiences. Like their name find them.

Sometimes the name is given to you by a friend, other times you choose it based on what you like, or what you’ve achieved, or you name yourself after a friend who died, or maybe just really like the sound of something.

Optimus obviously took his name when he took the matrix, before that, Orion Pax was from his favourite book. Hot Rod just wanted to sound cool. Skywarp because of his teleporting. Starscream was a compromise. He was obviously meant to be a star, but his trine mates insisted he talked too much. It certainly explains why so many Cybertronian’s names fit them so well.

And Bumblebee is just so young that he hasn’t had the chance to come up with a name yet until Earth. Until Charlie gives him one. 💛
