i cant believe this??? i thought that after summer of steven we were gonna have a HUGE hiatus but it’s the opposite. less than a week after summer of steven ends on august 12, season 4 beings on agust 18 and will air WEEKLY EPISODES (source)

Dear Steven Universe Fandom,

As someone who has been in the Steven Universe fandom since the Pilot, I want to give my two cents about this situation that has everyone all in a tizzy.

There could be many reasons why CN has decided to pull SU reruns temporarily, and it’s not fair to jump the gun, point fingers and make wild accusations based on the previous actions of a completely different network.  Not to mention, I do believe Regular Show and Adventure Time have had their reruns pulled as well, and they are in no danger of being cancelled.

Let’s look at the facts. SU is still running premiere episodes weekly, has an ongoing comic book series, and still has a second season in the works. We haven’t even seen the entirety of season 1 yet! There has been no official word even hinting at cancellation, so there is no need to be so panicked.

All of this being said, the situation has looked much more grim in the past, and some newer fans might not know the history. Last year in the winter, premieres were sporadic and poorly advertised. This continued into the spring where premieres kept being pushed back until they were pulled from the schedule altogether and we had a SU hiatus lasting the entire summer. However this was in order to build up the stock of new episodes for a release at a later time, CN was also undergoing some changes among the higher ups at the time.

But then in August, the SU comic came out and even had a celebratory art show to go along with it! Later that month SU came back with the premiere of Coach Steven and things started to pick up once more. It was also revealed that they had been renewed for a second season and there were still plenty of first season episodes in store! Since then, the only hiatus has been the typical winter hiatus for holiday specials to air.

So to everyone running around like chickens with their heads cut off, don’t be so anxious and panicked, things have been worse and Steven is still here. That being said, it is still a good idea to show support by buying official merchandise, like the new DVD, episodes on iTunes, CN shop goods, or the comic.  And if you can’t, show your support on the web with art, tweets and the like and in general get more people interested in watching it.  There is no need to go into apocalyptic panic mode over temporary changes and widespread, fear-mongering rumors.

As always, show your support, keep calm, and believe in Steven ☆

Allow me to give you a quick lesson in economics to describe to you how royally screwed we are.

A network is a based off of one thing only; not to make you happy by keeping shows that only you like, but rather to make as much money as possible.

Money is usually brought in by merchandise and commercials.

And when a show loses a lot of air time, guess what happens? It becomes less popular. Meaning it can only bring in so much revenue. 

This is of course, means that Steven Universe is basically being thrown under the rug. And might be treated like LOK was by Nickelodeon.  

So we HAVE to bring in more viewers & profit. Or else… We will lose an entire story that we will remember as “What could have been”

My solution? Make as much noise as possible. Bring it up on all social media. Make your friends watch the next episodes. Do whatever you can. We don’t want to lose this. Trust me.  Please just don’t let this go unnoticed. That is all I have to say.
