I’ve had these photos for almost a year since my Holy Pilgrimage to Iwami, and wanted to post them before I started to sort photos from my Holy Pilgrimage to Sydney.

These are my favourites from the batch. They were taken mid-July 2014, right after Episode 1 of Eternal Summer. We saw many locations later added into the show (the dock Rin and Sousuke ran beside as children, the weird tin men the boys hide behind when stalking Rei in Episode 3, etc) but now all I want is to go back and see all of the new locations.

I loved Iwami and some of the places almost moved me to tears. Free! is my favourite show of all time, and the town is exactly like it is in the show. It was like walking through a dream. I’ll go back, someday soon!

Posting these a bit late, for #makorinweekly prompt “Vacation”. I wish I had more time to draw more for this prompt, it was really inspiring, and I’ve always wanted to try to draw characters into photographs I took, that was a fun experiment!
