its funny how black panther was advertised as team iron man in the promos when t’challa was highkey only there to kick buckys ass he at most knew like two people by name on the entire team
I love Sam and Bucky’s pissy little relationship so much, it sustains me, it ascends me, every time Bucky kicks the back of Sam’s seat and pretends it was an accident, a stress wrinkle disappears from my face and appears on Sam’s
“Sorry, man,” Sam says as he keeps jamming his seat back into Bucky’s, “I don’t know why this keeps happening.”
“No problem, bro,” Bucky replies, trying to roundhouse kick while still safely buckled up. “It happens, bro.”
“Haha, buddy,” Sam says reclining straight into Bucky’s lap because this is the only way he is allowed to headbutt Bucky in the dick. “We’re so clumsy.”
“Haha,” Bucky replies, his eye gently twitching.
“It’s weird you guys are saying ‘haha’ aloud instead of just laughing,” Steve says, but no one is listening to him. He is very incidental to this car ride. There are two nemeses growing in this car. They are going to meet at some point on a plain during a thunderstorm. They’re going to die at each other’s hands, or at the very least Bucky is gonna drink Sam’s last Gatorade and Sam is gonna leave a very passive-aggressive note for him to find.

all other logical flaws aside, what pissed me off the most about nick’s absence in civil war was that nick fury would have never allowed tony to bring peter parker into the field. in ultimate, when nick finds out about peter, what he does is go and tell the kid that he should quit the super-heroics before he gets killed, or he can join shield and receive proper training before going back out. he understands that peter could very much end up dead, and he doesn’t take it lightly.
the fact that nobody (not even natasha or clint, who would be the next logical options!) says anything about peter being in the fight is ridiculous lazy writing, and the exclusion of nick is nonsense.
-Peggy Carter’s funeral would have been more than 3 minutes long.
-Tony Stark would have given a eulogy to Peggy, having grown up admiring her, his dad’s colleague of many years, a tremendously strong female role model (the woman who approved Pepper’s hire, of course).
-Steve Rogers would not have put the moves on Peggy’s niece within a day of burying Peggy.
-Black Widow would have gotten her own movie by now.
-A big part of Bucky’s backstory/flashbacks would have been told through Natasha’s viewpoint, her memories of either working with or against The Winter Soldier in Russia and the East.
-Pepper Potts would have been in Civil War, speaking for herself.
-Wanda’s grief over her brother would still be very present. Her feelings of loss and mourning would be front-and-center for her character.
-Black Panther’s woman bodyguard would have had more than one line.
-Natasha would have told Steve that she was at Peggy’s funeral in part because she didn’t want him to be alone, but also in part to pay respects to the great Peggy Carter.
-There would be way more women in these movies. There would be women of many ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and nationalities in these movies. There would be many scenes of women talking to women. There would be many more scenes of women talking. And doing. And feeling. And being.
I yearn to see more moves filmed like Mad Max, where the focus is almost always a woman’s face and no gestures are beauty aesthetic, just practical movement and no one gets the slow pan from the ground up.
“They do care very deeply for each other, I think as much as any two characters in The Avengers do and I think you’ll see that again in Civil War. His relationship with Natasha is important in the movie and I think two of the most endearing scenes in the film are between Steve and Natasha.” - Joe Russo
Tony spent nearly a billion dollars trying to find a way to work through his grief, to be able to just tell his parents that he loved them, reliving their last moment together.
20 years of grief that he hadn’t processed, that he was still trying to work through, and this was when he thought it was just a tragic car accident.
I need to talk about the fact that Bucky’s still got his right hand 100% free and could be punching Spider Man into next Tuesday already. But he still stood frozen, looking shocked as all fucks and lemme tell you right now that that was not because someone’s managed to block his metal fist because lbr the metal arm was never unstoppable before, especially when super-enhanced/-equipped people are involved – so basically he doesn’t take that punch cus he’s actually just now able to hear the other guy’s voice and it clicks that this is just a fucking k i d
Seriously though this gif illustrates perfectly that it’s Bucky and not the Winter Soldier in control…
Sure do wish there’d been a hug somewhere in Civil War.
kevin feige says he wants to introduce any future queer characters into the mcu ‘organically’ (whatever that means lol) but i’m watching cap 1 right now and it looks to me like he’s somehow failed to notice the tiny pesticide and GMO-free patch of his little marvel garden that sebastian stan’s been quietly tending since 2011
Sam is really inspired by Sharon’s speech
