Why verity in particular?

I meant to answer this a couple days ago but uh I forgot SORRY„ for context this person wants to know why I want verity carlo on the lost light.

first and foremost: verity carlo is Great and it is an absolute shame she’s not currently in anything. like especially mtmte her caustic wit and constant pop culture references would fit in so wonderfully on the lost light like just picture her hanging out at swerves with me ok

also she’s established to be bffs with ultra magnus which is adorable (she calls him uncle magnus!!!) and im sad that their relationship never got too much development due to time constraints in lsotw. magnus’ soft spot for her especially stands out given how much pre-mtmte ultra magnus was resolutely anti-yahoo and verity is like the biggest yahoo earth has to offer so it’d be interesting to be able to showcase how that came to be and also have verity act as a sort of milestone as to how far ultra magnus has come in loosening up. plus mags adores her and that has the potential to be really fucking cute

another reason I really want her onboard is something I started thinking about after that last issue of mtmte where rewind tried to prevent megatron specifically for the sake of protecting alien cultures from decepticon onslaught. most obviously verity is a human from earth, her planet (our planet lmao) has gotten its ass best by this war, but more importantly one of the many casualties of decepticons on earth was her good friend hunter, whom in lsotw she was shown to have a tattoo memorializing. hunter, and by extension verity, represent the horror rewind was willing to sacrifice himself and everyone he cares about to prevent. there’s a conversation there.

and as an extension of that, megatron is on the lost light now. megatron who is directly responsible for pretty much everything that happened on earth (or ultimately responsible anyway, scorponok’s motivations were pretty muddled) and whom verity has already met. like tbh I mostly just want some sort of visual callback to when verity first saw megatron way back in infiltration, peaking her head around the corner with her face glued to a camcorder as megatron glances down at her. you know in whatever mtmte issue it was where ravage asked if rewind was important and megatron replied that it seems like everyone is important these days? I want that but with verity, for the cultures he’s destroyed

because verity is incredibly important. she’s the collateral damage that fought back. she is just as much a part of the war as those who were there since the beginning, she’s the much needed outside perspective. she released ironfist’s aequitas data that prowl wanted destroyed, she had a hand in preventing megatrons infiltration of earth. she bears the scars dealt to her by both sides of the war, but ultimately, like everyone else on the lost light, she’s willing to look towards the sky for hope and move on

verity carlo belongs on the lost light because she’s incredibly like them but different in ways that underscore their own shortcomings. like. please idw give me this
