西口情/Xikou Qing ("Xikou Sentiments") a Shanbei folk song, performed by 丁文军/Ding Wenjun
English added by me :)
im in awe
So.
The Sound of Silence is probably one of my favorite songs ever. When speaking of the “true” Simon and Garfunkel version (as opposed to the version where they added background music to in post to make it more “pop radio”), it’s a song that gives me chills.
Disturbed is not a band that I really enjoy. I remember in college, my (now) wife gave me a copy of a Disturbed CD, because she had two for some reason. I tried to listen to it, I really did. Didn’t do anything for me.
But this? Holy fuck, this is stunning. This is amazing.
This gives me chills.
Was really feeling this song by @phemiec so I did a weird little cover
Love this so much!! :D
yall im losing it, TIL the “WAKE ME UP” in bring me to life was added on bc the record company thought the song should be more masculine LMAO??
this is wild
omfg
holy shit
Please listen to this and if you can’t listen on Spotify here’s a Youtube link SERIOUSLY THIS VERSION IS SO MUCH BETTER.
Let's talk about mynoise.net
Have you ever been listening to Rainymood and thought, “Yeah, this is good … but it would be nice if I could customize the sound more, or if there was a little more choice.
Let me introduce you to MyNoise.
MyNoise is a customizable sounscape looper with so many options, even within each soundscape. So say, for instance, you really love rain sounds when you write or study or relax. Anything. I know I’m a big fan of rain sounds. They have a page for that.
But say you like really high, pattery rain, and LOTS of low thunder. Here’s where MyNoise really stands out: you can customize that. See those sliders with all the cute colors? That is your equalizer. You can adjust the levels based on what you want to hear more and less of. Here’s how it looks when you want high, pattery rain and low, rumbly thunder:
But say rain isn’t really your jam. Say you want something a little more ambient, a little more background noise-y. Something with people. Well, they have customizable coffee house chatter that even has the levels listed for things like “kitchen,” “babble,” and “table”:
Or say you miss the ocean.
Or say you miss your cat.
Or say you miss your spaceship.
Or say you miss the dungeon where you and your team of scalawag adventurers used to explore and face off against, say, dragons. In the dungeon.
This site is seriously so helpful, and those are just a fraction of every kind of sounscape the site has to offer. The best part is that if you want to layer it with music (for instance, I’ll layer a playlist + rain + coffee shop if the scene I’m writing takes place in a coffee shop), you can adjust the master volume, meaning all of your layers stay at their respective volumes, just louder or quieter.
Enjoy!
OH MY GOD
Y’ALL I JUST STARTED USING THIS TODAY BUT THIS HAS BROKEN THROUGH MY WRITER’S BLOCK LIKE NOTHING ELSE.
TRY IT. USE IT. LOVE IT.
Gonna try this later. Seems like an amazing great idea
NFWMB pitch shifted by three semitones. Enjoy @vrabia
Reblogging this again because I found info!
This is 2/3 of a band called Too Many Zooz (they’re lacking their trumpeter here), the song is called ‘Flightning,’ and the genre is “brass house” (which i think they made up but hey i dig it). They have a handful of songs on Spotify and just successfully Kickstarted their first full-length album.
this song as the opening to a new anime by Shinichiro Watanabe honestly
These guys are CHARACTERS for a Watanabe anime.
I seriously love these guys, because they’re so interesting from a music-theory perspective. Their use of intense beats, syncopation, deep bass, and blaring harmonics borrows a lot from modern club music
they’re basically playing dubstep on traditional instruments. Seriously, listen to some tracks with all three of them together, and tell me that’s not what they’re doing
Florence and the Machine at last night’s Spotify event in Brooklyn. As Florence began to sing Sky Full of Song a literal storm began to hit, she never faltered and embraced the storm.
Watching this was an ethereal experience
this queen literally summoned a storm during her performance when will your fave ever control the weather with such accuracy
This is fucking awesome.
Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver except it’s playing from your neighbor’s radio that you can hear from your back porch, which you sit out on to relax in spite of the loud buzzing from the lightbulb and the hoards of moths that flock to it on summer evenings like this.
As relaxing as I find this, I also find it oddly ominous and terrifying.
like, this is probably what you hear before you die???
Also, by popular demand: I give you a link for download.
You’re Welcome (x)
Smile Bomb
Okay, how the hell. This is THE most crystal clear version of Smile Bomb I’ve listened to, and the creditless opening video is also like SHARP, like holy shit this is as if it were released TODAY type of clarity and it’s messing with me.
Can I just say how utterly iconic Yu Yu Hakusho is, like I’ve barely watched the series and seen the characters but I can remember most of the characters I know in vivid detail as far as design and powers go and that’s just amazing to me
So I finally sat down and recorded a new song! Sometimes you don’t feel like you’re good enough for someone and blame yourself for it.
If I had the time I would be good for you If I had the patience I would wait But I’m so destroyed By life it’s hard to believe I could be good for you today
If you enjoy my music, maybe buy me a coffee?
when you can’t breathe*
THIS IS SO CUTE
THEYRE DOING CLASSIC SONGS BUT SWAPPING ALL THE PRONOUNS YAS
