Visiting Artist Program “Taiwanese Moving Image in the 1960s and 1970s: Chen Yao-chi and Chang Chao-Tang” 02.03.2016

香港 M+ 美術館「駐訪藝術家計劃 ── 台灣六十、七十年代動態影像:陳耀圻與張照堂」

On 2 March, M+ (Hong Kong) will present a special screening of six rarely seen moving image works from the 1960s and 1970s by renowned Taiwanese artists/filmmakers Chen Yao-chi (b. 1938) and Chang Chao-Tang (b. 1943). The making of these groundbreaking works informed and galvanised the practices of moving image, visual art, and experimental theatre in Taiwan, connecting strongly with the rising awareness of cultural identity within its social spheres. The screening will be followed by a discussion with Chang and Professor Ray Jing, Dean of the Graduate Institute of Studies in Documentary and Film Archiving, Tainan University. Moderated by Lesley Ma, Curator, Ink Art and Yung Ma, Associate Curator, Moving Image. Date: 2 March 2016 (Wednesday)
